Anne Bauchens was a pioneering film editor who had a long-standing
partnership with director
Cecil B. DeMille. In fact, she first
edited a DeMille film in 1915 and then edited all of his films for 38
years, beginning with
L'illusion du bonheur (1918)
and ending with
Les Dix Commandements (1956).
She was nominated for four Oscars and won one, for
Les tuniques écarlates (1940).
