Buddy was the younger brother of world heavyweight champion Max Baer. In films, he played giants in Quo Vadis (1951) and La poule aux oeufs d'or (1952). When television westerns were in vogue in the '50s and '60s, he often played the heavy to super-sized heroes James Arness, Clint Walker and Chuck Connors.
