Exclusive: It’s a family affair for Grammy Award-winning singer and actress Brandy Norwood, who will star opposite her daughter Sy’Rai Smith, in her acting debut, in the new Lifetime holiday film Christmas Everyday.

Beauty in Black tells the story of a stripper named Kimmie (played by Taylor Polidore Williams), who constantly finds herself involved in the goings-on of the powerful Bellarie family. Season 1 ended with Kimmie agreeing to marry family patriarch Horace Bellarie (Ricco Ross) in order to prevent his greedy children from taking his money and company, effectively making her their stepmom and their new boss.

Morgan’s most notable role was Angie Baxter Hubbard on the classic soap All My Children. She played the iconic character from January 1982 to July 1990. A new Tyler Perry series is coming to Netflix and we've just learned the release date! Snowfall's Taylor Polidore Williams and Acrimony alum Crystle Stewart will lead the show, titled Beauty in Black, for Netflix, which will be released in two parts beginning on Oct. 24.

Beauty in Black is the latest acquisition under Perry's multi-year first-look deal with Netflix, where the filmmaker is expected to write, direct, and produce feature films and series for the streamer. His most recent Netflix release was the thriller film Mea Culpa.

Netflix revealed the Oct. 24 release date for Beauty in Black, and the all-new series will be an hour-long drama written, directed, and produced by Perry. The first season will have 16 episodes, which is a rarity when it comes to Netflix shows, most of which usually only have eight to 10 episodes for their debut seasons.

Part one of “Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black” will debut on Netflix on Thursday, Oct. 24. The series, which stars Taylor Polidore Williams, Crystle Stewart and Amber Reign Smith among others, follows two women whose lives become entangled despite their significant differences. This marks Perry’s first original series created for the streamer.
