Terry Louise Fisher, ‘L.A. Law’ Co-Creator Who Got Into Beef With Steven Bochco, Dies at 79
Image
Terry Louise Fisher, the former Los Angeles assistant district attorney who put her legal expertise to work when she teamed with Steven Bochco to create the acclaimed NBC drama L.A. Law, has died. She was 79.

Fisher lived in the Laguna Beach area and died Tuesday, family member Mark Zev Hochberg wrote on Facebook.

The Chicago native began her career in television in 1983 as a writer-producer on the second season of Cagney & Lacey. She worked alongside writing partner Steve Brown on the iconic CBS series for three seasons through 1985, and they returned for a pair of reunion telefilms in 1994 and ’95.

Fisher and Bochco also created the ABC dramedy Hooperman, starring John Ritter as a San Francisco police inspector. That 20th Century Fox Television series lasted two seasons (1987-89).

L.A. Law, revolving around the fictional law firm McKenzie, Brackman, Chaney and Kuzak, ran eight seasons from 1986-94 and collected 15 Emmys, including four for outstanding drama series.

Hollywood’s Top Marketers of 2025
Image
Nothing is certain when it comes to predicting if a marketing effort — a trailer, an activation, merch — will stick with audiences. To that end, the past year has seen studios, streamers and record labels sign on more promo partners than ever before, says Disney chief brand officer Asad Ayaz, to help “break through the clutter,” combining the power of the brand and the project to grab attention. Who did it best? While Disney gets major props for selling three $1 billion-plus pics, a THR survey indicates that rivals were most impressed with Universal’s Wicked campaign — they had major doubts as to whether the film would work — which really took the (pink and green) cake with its seemingly infinite number of partnerships, from Walmart’s green mac and cheese to a special version of Monopoly. Dune: Chapter Two: Chapter Two sandworm popcorn buckets answered the call when the “internet needs a moment just to have fun,...

A Greek Mythology Movie Is A Netflix Hit Despite Its 26% Rotten Tomatoes Score
Image
Although the film was critically panned when it came out in 2012 — yes, it only has a 26% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes — Jonathan Liebesman's peplum flick "Wrath of the Titans" is attracting a large audience on Netflix. "Wrath of the Titans" is a sequel to Louis Leterrier's 2010's ugly-ass 3D film "Clash of the Titans," itself a high-octane remake of the glittering 1981 fantasy epic directed by Desmond Davis and starring Harry Hamlin.

All three films concern the adventures of the Greek hero Perseus, played by Sam Worthington in the remakes. In "Clash of the Titans," Perseus' adventures contain some of what you remember from studying Greek mythology in elementary school. He is the illegitimate son of Zeus, born to the human woman Danae. He grows up, raised by fishermen, in the city of Argos. When he turns 18, the king and queen of Argos have waged a war on the gods,...
