Ray has also produced over 100 movies, including the 1995 “killer pumpkinhead scarecrow” movie Jack-o, which was directed by Steve Latshaw from a script by Patrick Moran that was based on a story crafted by Ray and Brad Linaweaver. 1985 gave us one of the most important zombie movies of all time. It was a sequel to the movie that gave us zombies as we know them and probably signaled the end of the world on screen. Day of the Dead you say? As much as I love that slow-paced close-out to George Romero’s original trilogy, I’m talking about something a little different. I’m talking about running zombies that can’t be killed, rabid weasels, Burt and Ernie, partying when it’s party time, and a true return of the living dead. Dan O’Bannon horror comedy expertly walks the line between the two genres with genuine laughs and frightening thrills. It could have been more like the very obscure book it...

Four years have gone by since we heard that Orwo Studios and Black Hanger Studios, the folks behind Jeepers Creepers: Reborn, were going to be making a reboot of the classic Christmas slasher movie Silent Night, Deadly Night (watch it Here), and while those plans didn’t work out and Orwo Studios and Black Hanger Studios are no longer involved, a remake is still moving forward. Last November, we learned that the film will be coming our way from Cineverse, the company behind the Terrifier franchise, with writer/director Mike P. Nelson at the helm. A couple of months ago, Sixth Dimension, the new in-house genre label at Studiocanal, picked up the global rights (excluding North America) to the project. And now, Deadline has confirmed that the remake has officially started filming – and they even unveiled the first image, which can be seen at the bottom of this article.

And just yesterday, it was announced that Rohan Campbell of Halloween Ends has signed on to play Billy Chapman, who dons a Santa Claus costume and goes on a killing spree in the film.

The holiday horror film Silent Night, Deadly Night is getting reimagined with a new horror
remake currently in the works. It's now been revealed who will be playing the new Billy, the character who suits up as Santa Claus to carry out a killing spree on Christmas Eve.
As announced by Bloody Disgusting, horror star Rohan Campbell has signed on to play Billy Chapman, the role originally played by Robert Brian Wilson in the Silent Night, Deadly Night reboot. Campbell is best known to horror fans for his role as Corey Cunningham in David Gordon Green's Halloween Ends, the latest installment of the Halloween franchise. His character is one of the very few other kills in the Halloween franchise other than Michael Myers, and he'll be able to put that slasher killer experience to further use as the star of the new Silent Night, Deadly Night.

Creepozoids is one of those cult science fiction horror films that lingered on the fringes of my childhood memory, largely due to its frequent appearances on Stephen King’s This Is Horror – a late-night TV show that aired on ITV in the early 1990s. The program often featured extended clips and behind-the-scenes snippets, which meant that although I felt intimately familiar with Creepozoids, I had never actually watched the film in its entirety until the film’s DVD release back in 2014. And now it’s time to revisit it on the brand new Blu-ray for 101 Films.
Set in the dystopian future of 1998, six years after a devastating nuclear conflict, Creepozoids tells the tale of five Army deserters – Bianca (Linnea Quigley), Kate, Butch (Ken Abraham), Jesse...

The A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise has some of the best heroines of the horror genre – and my personal favorite of the Elm Street heroines is Alice Johnson, played by Lisa Wilcox in A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master and A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child. JoBlo’s own Ryan Cultrera was able to catch up with Wilcox at the Ve Neill’s Vampire Weekend convention in California last month and talked with her about her encounters with Freddy Krueger and the experience of working on those classic ’80s horror films. You can hear what Wilcox had to say by checking out the video embedded above.
Directed by Renny Harlin from a screenplay by Brian Helgeland, Ken Wheat, and Jim Wheat (with Helgeland also sharing story credit with William Kotzwinkle), A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master has the following synopsis: Your fave psycho-sandman is back!

Forty years ago, writer/director Dan O’Bannon delivered one of the most highly entertaining zombie movies of all time with The Return of the Living Dead (watch it Here). A company called Living Dead Media LLC claims to own the copyright to the original screenplay and the underlying script for that film, as well as other trademarks, which is how they’re able to move ahead with a new Return of the Living Dead film that’s aiming for a Christmas 2025 release. But last year, a new company called Rotld Originals LLC was formed, with Return of the Living Dead cast member Beverly Randolph, a.k.a. Beverly Dawn Hartley, signing the formation document. It has since been revealed that Rotld Originals LLC is teaming up with DRagonSTUDIOS, a company that owns the trademarks to The Return of the Living Dead and Rotld Universe, for a movie project called Trash’s Revenge,...

A new meta-project tied to the popular horror franchise Return of the Living Dead will bring two of the original film's stars back from the beyond. The film, titled Trash's Revenge, will see the, well, return of Return of the Living Dead actors Linnea Quigley, Beverly Randolph, Thom Mathews, Miguel Nunez, John Philbin, and, "through the magic of CGI," deceased actors James Karen and Don Calfa, Bloody Disgusting reports. Karen and Calfa, both veteran character actors with long careers in movies and TV, famously played Frank and Ernie, respectively, in the first film in the comedy horror series. Karen passed away in 2018, and Calfa in 2016. It isn't clear how extensive their appearances in Trash's Revenge will be, but no doubt the use of CGI to bring them back to screens will be deeply controversial.
