The Marvel Cinematic Universe kicked off its Multiverse Saga in Phase Four with some strong early returns, and through some ups and downs, it found its way to Phase Five. Unfortunately, it would be wrong of us to ignore the fact that the fifth phase of the franchise has been anything other than a misfire, which is a real shame because, in the midst of a lot of its misses, there are some real cracking, potentially Top 5, MCU installments.
It's not too surprising that there were struggles along the way as this was the phase in which the Multiverse Saga's central storyline revolving around Kang the Conqueror was dropped and replaced by the build towards the arrival of a new villain: Doctor Doom, portrayed by none other than Robert Downey Jr. This was a game-changer, this was exciting, but unfortunately Phase Five was running out of time and titles to...

Taylor Sheridan has never been shy about his love for the Western genre. While many believe modern audiences have moved on, Sheridan thinks otherwise, and he’s got one simple reason to back it up. He believes a Western done right will always strike gold. And looking at Yellowstone’s massive success, it’s hard to argue with him. The grit, the land, the legacy, horse operas aren’t just stubbornly sticking around; they’re thriving.
And Sheridan’s storytelling blueprint is now the industry’s go-to formula for frontier drama that rakes in both viewers and awards. Safe to say, the cowboy isn’t riding off just yet.
Why Taylor Sheridan thinks Westerns like Yellowstone will never die Taylor Sheridan in Yellowstone | Credits: Paramount Network
Taylor Sheridan called Yellowstone “nonsensical.” The man behind the Dutton dynasty openly admitted his signature show makes little sense, but that’s kind of the point.

Over the years, Danny DeVito has established himself as one of the most celebrated funnymen in Hollywood. Even at 80, DeVito can still enthrall his entire audience with his humorous yet witty punchlines.
While more than five decades later after that incident, DeVito is an award-winning movie star, it was not always the case. There was a time when the actor had to audition for roles, and often had to bring a twist to it.
Fresh out of his success from his role in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, DeVito auditioned for his iconic role in Taxi, which premiered in 1978. However, DeVito did not take a direct approach when he went in to audition for the role, and for a moment, he thought his experiment backfired.

Colin Farrell can now be seen in the newly released trailer for A Big Bold Beautiful Journey with Margot Robbie. The film focuses on two strangers and how their paths align unexpectedly. The trailer showcases how both characters re-live past moments of their lives. Farrell and Danny DeVito also re-live their past performances as the Batman rogue, The Penguin, as they interview each other for Variety‘s recurring Actors on Actors series. Both Farrell and DeVito reflect on the prosthetics and make-up that they had to endure for their respective films — The Batman and Batman Returns.
Farrell asked DeVito, “Did you have makeup tests and all that? Because that was as extreme a look as I had on mine. It was very different, but just as extreme and just as arduous in the mornings.” But DeVito returned the attention to Farrell as he replied, “The first time I saw yours,...

After disappearing from the Paramount+ streaming charts for a few weeks, the crime drama series MobLand had a major resurgence as it concluded its debut season this month. MobLand took the number two spot on the Paramount+ viewership charts on June 2 and June 3, challenging Taylor Sheridan's dominance on the streamer, which practically survives on the popularity of his output. Sheridan has several shows on the Paramount+ service, but on June 2 and June 3, none of them could outperform MobLand. Created by Ronan Bennett and starring Tom Hardy, the show opened to mostly positive reviews, but had an uneven run.
According to FlixPatrol, MobLand scored 231 points on June 3, edging past Sheridan's Tulsa King and Yellowstone, which earned 176 and 143 points, respectively. Earlier in its run, MobLand would also outperform other Sheridan shows such as 1883 and 1923, both of which are Yellowstone spin-offs. But MobLand suffered a noticeable mid-season slump in interest. The second and final season of Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone prequel might have ended nearly two months ago, but new information about the series has surfaced. 1883 was the first Yellowstone prequel to hit the air, and it stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill opposite Sam Elliot. The show was followed by 1923, which featured Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren in leading roles. A new report from the Wall Street Journal revealed that 1923, which initially aired in 2022 before kicking off its second season earlier this year, cost around $22 million per episode. This is more than the final season of Game of Thrones, which reportedly cost around $15 million per episode. As of May 2023, Paramount was reportedly spending around $500 million a year for the Yellowstone franchise — this has likely gone down now that Yellowstone and 1923 are over.

Before Robert Pattinson stole the spotlight or Christian Bale whispered in a deep growl, Michael Keaton was rocking the Bat-suit in the ‘90s. Appearing in two of Tim Burton’s Batman movies, Keaton packed his films with bat gadgets, high-octane actions, and a bit of behind-the-scenes drama.
Yep, turns out, Michael Keaton made quite the scene during the production of the 1992 movie Batman Returns. Why? Because Keaton was unwilling to cast Michelle Pfeiffer in the role of Catwoman—who Fyi slayed and lowkey turned on Danny DeVito, with her iconic leather catsuit. But what was the tea between Keaton and Pfeiffer that led the actor to oppose her casting?

Danny DeVito remembered shooting Batman Returns with “goddess” Michelle Pfeiffer while speaking with Colin Farrell for Variety. The actor played Oswald Cobblepot, a.k.a. the Penguin, opposite Pfeiffer’s Selina Kyle (a.k.a. Catwoman) in Tim Burton’s 1992 film.

In 1992, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, and Michelle Pfeiffer came together to bring another one of the Caped Crusader’s adventures to life. Batman Returns received mixed reviews from critics; while some praised the characters, others stated that the plot lacked in more ways than one. However, there was one element of the film that received unending praise from critics – Michelle Pfeiffer.
As the film’s Catwoman, Michelle Pfeiffer looked absolutely stunning and nailed the role that was given to her. After all, what else do you expect from an actress of her caliber? It turns out that the audience and critics weren’t the only ones in awe of her. Danny DeVito couldn’t even focus on his work around her.

The Witch of Eastwick was a box-office success that received a pretty lukewarm reaction from critics. However, the film’s Oscar loss to The Last Emperor was nothing short of being a sham. The Witch of Eastwick had a pretty fresh premise and actually managed to make its budget back and then some.
However, the film ended up losing to Bernardo Bertolucci’s The Last Emperor, which chronicled the life of the last emperor of China, Puyi. While The Witch of Eastwick was nominated for Best Original Score and Best Sound, both these awards would end up going to Bertolucci’s film instead.

Matlock star Kathy Bates has long been adored by movie lovers, in part due to her performance in the Stephen King adaptation Misery. Because she won an Academy Award for her role in the film, fans may presume she was subsequently in high demand for major movie roles, but Bates says that wasn't the case.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Bates said it was "like a desert" with the Hollywood movie offers after Misery. One role she was hoping to get was as one of the titular leads in Frankie and Johnny, the 1992 film by director Garry Marshall. Bates had previously portrayed Frankie in the original off-Broadway play that the movie was directly based on, and coupled with her recent Oscar win, she might have seemed like a shoo-in for the part. Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer’s 2000 supernatural horror thriller What Lies Beneath is heading to the small screen as the latest Hollywood blockbuster to be getting a TV adaptation. Although this still seems to be in the very early stages of development, Deadline reported producer Mark Johnson, who is well known for producing features like The Chronicles of Narnia trilogy, Rain Man, The Notebook and more, as saying the property is one of several projects being considered for TV adaptation.
“We’re very excited about the idea of maybe doing a television show — I’m not sure I should say this but I’m going to — our movie What Lies Beneath, that could lend itself to a very good, perhaps limited, perhaps not, TV show.”
Johnson has been part of the production team for some of AMC's biggest hits over the last two decades, and that doesn't seem about...

As far as we know, Kody Brown has never saved a life.
His parents were not murdered.
He doesn’t spend part of his life as a philanthropic billionaire and the other half as any sort of caped crusader.
And yet: The Sister Wives lead still think he’s a lot like Batman.

On the first part of the Sister Wives: One-on-One for Season 19, Kody says his life is a lot like the film Batman Returns.
“If you don’t die the hero, you live long enough to become the villain,” Brown said on this special, echoing a famous line from this smash hit movie.
For the record, Batman Returns was released in 1992 and it featured a turn in Gotham City’s support of Batman (Michael Keaton) after his relationship with Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer) came to light.

You burn the candle at both ends, and pretty soon you’re standing in the dark. And if there’s anyone embodying that saying right now, it’s Taylor Sheridan. The man has become a narrative machine with spurs. From Yellowstone’s sweeping saga to the unforgiving pulse of Sicario, his stories cut with the precision of a sharpened branding iron.
And now, with multiple shows and films in development, his empire looks more like a final magnum opus. But even kings get tired. Sheridan, now 54, had already spoken of bowing out before 60. With 1944, The Madison, 6666, Empire of the Summer Moon, F.A.S.T., and that untitled Beth & Rip series in tow, he’s running full speed toward a finish line only he can see.
Frankly? We’re not ready to lose him yet. So, here’s everything Taylor Sheridan has wrangled together before he probably calls it quits.
Let’s learn...

Kathy Bates is looking back at her career and recalling why director Garry Marshall didn’t cast her in the film adaptation of Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, a stage role she originated.
In a new interview, Bates opened up about getting passed over for the lead role in 1991’s Frankie and Johnny, which ultimately went to Michelle Pfeiffer, opposite Al Pacino.
“He couldn’t make the leap that people would see me onscreen kissing someone,” Bates said in an interview with Vanity Fair. “Me actually kissing a man onscreen—that would not be romantic.”
Bates said she has “always had that,” recalling that her father told her hometown acting teacher, “You know, she’s not conventionally attractive.”
Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune was a 1987 Off-Broadway love story starring Bates as waitress Frankie and F. Murray Abraham as a short-order cook.

Kathy Bates claims the late Garry Marshall declined to cast her in 1991’s Frankie and Johnny because of her appearance.
The veteran actress opened up about the way she was treated in Hollywood throughout her career because of her appearance during a recent interview with Vanity Fair. Following her breakout role in 1990’s Misery, which earned her a best actress Oscar, Bates recalled it being “like a desert” as she waited for another great project, partly because she didn’t look like conventional movie stars.
At the time, she said Marshall, who died in 2016, declined to cast her in his film adaptation of the off-Broadway production Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, even though she originated the stage role, because he couldn’t picture her playing a romantic lead.

Kathy Bates revealed that Garry Marshall refused to cast her in the 1991 film “Frankie and Johnny,” a role she had originated Off-Broadway, because seeing a man kiss her onscreen “would not be romantic.”

The Belfast-born journalist, editor, publisher, broadcaster, and one-time vocalist for Northern Irish post-punk band Shock Treatment passed away in his sleep in the early hours of yesterday morning, it has been confirmed.
Colin McIlheney shared the news of his brother's death on Facebook this morning, writing the following: "It is with a very heavy heart that I have to share the news that my brother Barry died unexpectedly and peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of yesterday morning, Monday 26th May at his home in Spain. This has come as a terrible shock to our family and especially to Lola, Frankie and Mary. We all loved Barry very much and I shared a close bond with him [...] He will be very much missed by us all.

In many respects, The Last Rodeo has all the qualities of a classic underdog story that aims to become a crowd-pleaser, albeit a heavy-handed one. For better or worse—and we can probably all agree, it’s more the latter. That said, the film has grit and largely avoids leaning into the Angel Studios-style faith-based playbook until the third act.
My main issue with The Last Rodeo is that we hardly see the skill, preparation, and go-for-broke attitude involved in what is clearly one of the most grueling and dangerous sports today. Yes, we see the will of a grizzled, weathered man trying to save his grandchild—but what about the work that got him there?
What could have been one of those great sports Disney films like The Rookie, Miracle, or Remember the Titans, we get a movie that lacks the faith to do more than what is asked for.

“We have plans for sure,” said Cannes regular and Sentimental Value actress Elle Fanning about reteaming with her sister Dakota Fanning in a future project.
Fanning fielded the question today at the Cannes presser for the Joaquim Trier movie.
The sisters previously starred together in the 2001 Sean Penn-Michelle Pfeiffer movie, I Am Sam, playing the older and younger version of the character Lucy. They also provided the voices of the sisters in the English-language version of Hayao Miyazaki’s 1988 title My Neighbor Totoro.
The Fannings were originally set to star in Sony’s feature take of the Kristin Hannah bestseller The Nightingale with Melanie Laurent directing about two sisters during WWII dealing with the German Occupation in France. However, the project was halted during Covid.

When Marvel Studios released Ant-Man in 2015, it featured Scott Lang as the McU's main shrinking superhero. He was the second Ant-Man in the comics, and Hank Pym's retirement after holding the mantle during the Cold War was a new concept created for the MCU.
While Paul Rudd's Ant-Man has earned a legion of fans, some were—and still are—understandably unhappy that a founding Avenger was relegated to a supporting character status in what should have been his franchise.
A big part of the reason for the change was that Marvel Studios spent years waiting for Edgar Wright to helm Ant-Man (meaning Hank couldn't appear in The Avengers alongside The Wasp), only to run into "creative differences" when the time came for cameras to roll. In that version of the movie, Hank would have become the villainous Black Ant.

Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe has continued to expand on the heels of its massive success, with a slate of sequels and prequels currently in the works. And as much as fans are looking forward to its next chapter, 1944, with its dramatic backdrop of World War II reshaping the Dutton legacy, there’s another project that’s grabbed my attention even more.
And it’s not just about rugged ranch life or generational drama this time, it’s about a casting choice. I’m talking about The Madison, the upcoming spinoff featuring none other than Michelle Pfeiffer. The idea of Pfeiffer stepping into Sheridan’s gritty, layered storytelling is something I can’t wait to see unfold.

Every Live-Action Disney Princess Movie Ranked As Per IMDb Score(Photo Credit –Facebook)
Let’s face it, nobody does fairy tales like Disney. For decades, we grew up with animated princesses singing through magical forests, falling in love, and battling villains with a little help from animal sidekicks. But in recent years, Disney’s been busy giving these classics a fresh coat of paint with live-action remakes. Some were total crowd-pleasers; others… not so much. Whether you’re a die-hard Disney fan or just curious about which remake is worth a watch, here’s a breakdown of how the live-action princess movies have fared according to IMDb ratings.
1. The Little Mermaid (2023) – IMDb: 7.2
There was a lot of buzz around this one long before it even dropped. And you know what? It delivered more than people expected. Halle Bailey stepped into Ariel’s fins with grace and power—her performance was heartfelt and nuanced,...

Yellowstone, the mega-hit neo-Western series from superproducer Taylor Sheridan, came to an end after five seasons in 2024, but the show’s universe continues to expand. There are five publicly announced sequels, prequels, and spinoffs in various stages of development. They’ll follow the prequels that have already aired, 1883 and 1923, as well as Sheridan’s collection of non-Yellowstone shows on Paramount+, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, Lawmen, Lioness, and Landman. Here’s everything we know so far about each of Sheridan’s various Yellowstone expansions, from the forthcoming to the off in the distance.
Dutton Ranch
The most direct successor to Yellowstone is the sequel series focused on Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly), John Dutton’s (Kevin Costner) hell-raising daughter, and her husband, tough ranch foreman Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser). While an official title has not been announced, Bloomberg reports that the project is tentatively titled Dutton Ranch, and is expected...

Brandon Sklenar (Drop) is set to topline F.A.S.T., a long-gestating action thriller that mega TV producer Taylor Sheridan has scripted for Warner Bros.
In the film, a former special forces commando is tapped by the DEA to lead a black op strike team against CIA-protected drug dealers. The project reunites Sklenar and Sheridan following their work on 1923, a Western drama for Paramount+ that’s part of the latter’s Yellowstone universe. Also a veteran of that series is cinematographer Ben Richardson, who will make his feature directorial debut on F.A.S.T.
Warner Bros. commissioned Sheridan to pen the script prior to his current overall deal with Paramount, with the latter granting Taylor’s request to render services on the movie, within Paramount’s exclusive window. The film will be produced by David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford of Heyday Films, with Sheridan and Jenny Wood of Bosque Ranch Productions in negotiations to produce.

Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone controversies may not be over yet, as, following the very public fallout of Kevin Costner’s departure from the franchise, it seems that the two stars leading sequel series, Dutton Ranch, are kicking up the dust with their own demands for the upcoming show.
While it was recently announced during Paramount’s Q1 earnings call that Dutton Ranch will debut on Paramount+ in November alongside the return of Landman Season 2, cameras are yet to start rolling, and a new speculative report has suggested that Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser’s long-in-development Beth and Rip-centered spinoff has alleged the pair have become known as “the gruesome twosome” behind the scenes over their demands and attempts to ensure that they are the biggest stars on the show, but how true that is relies on the sources.

Well, well, well — it looks like Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler aren’t done with us just yet. According to new details from Paramount Global’s Q1 2025 earnings call, the Yellowstone spin-off centered on the fan-favorite couple is officially on the books — and it has a release window. The still-officially-untitled project (which may go by Yellowstone: Dutton Ranch) is targeting a Q4 2025 debut, with November being the likeliest landing spot. If that date holds, the series will premiere roughly one year after the Yellowstone series finale aired in December 2024.
The new show will bring back Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser as Beth and Rip, picking up after the final scene of the original series, which saw them settling into a quieter life with Carter 40 miles west of Dillon, Montana. The '80s weren't a great time for the fantasy genre, at least in terms of commercial success. The decade produced multiple fantasy box office bombs that, in retrospect, deserve a second chance, including the beloved fantasy classic "Labyrinth," which, it might surprise you to learn, was a certified flop upon its initial release. Even legendary director Richard Donner struggled when he unleashed "Ladyhawke" upon the world and was met with indifference at best.
The filmmaker had cemented the concept of the modern blockbuster with 1978's "Superman" before being unceremoniously removed from the sequel and replaced with director Richard Lester, despite the fact Donner had already shot most of the movie. After that, Donner fell into something of a dry spell. 1980's "Inside Moves" was received well enough, but Donner's Richard Pryor-led 1982 comedy "The Toy" was panned despite making a decent profit.

Before he joined the Marvel machine, this star had already attracted attention not just from fans, but from the Yellowstone mastermind Taylor Sheridan himself. But instead of riding into Sheridan’s Wild West, he ended up starring in a rival Western show that carved its own gritty path.
The twist: he wasn’t chasing fame. He pretty much ghosted Hollywood for a while, choosing character over clout. That quiet rebellion, paired with serious on-screen grit, left Sheridan seriously impressed. And even though he didn’t turn up for the Yellowstone universe, his presence in the Western genre left a mark loud enough to echo.

"It's beginning to look a lot like chaos." Prime Video has revealed the first sneak peek trailer for a Christmas comedy movie called Oh. What. Fun, from director Michael Showalter. This is set to release in December but they're already beginning promotion for it this early. Michelle Pfeiffer stars as Claire Clauster - she makes the Christmas magic happen every year for her family but her children & grandchildren don't realize the effort it takes, until she goes missing. Claire's already set off on a festive adventure of her own - it's one that doesn't involve cooking, cleaning, or coordinating anyone else's chaos. When they realize she's missing, their holiday is at risk until she returns to give them a celebration they deserve. Aside from Pfeiffer, the full cast includes Chloë Grace Moretz, Danielle Brooks, Denis Leary, Dominic Sessa, Havana Rose Liu, Maude Apatow, Devery Jacobs, Jason Schwartzman, Eva Longoria, Joan Chen.

Michelle Pfeiffer at Christmastime? No, it’s not a “Batman Returns” sequel, but it may be just as campy. The beloved actress who recently (finally!) received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is leading Michael Showalter’s holiday feature “Oh. What. Fun.” alongside a slew of It-indie actors.
Pfeiffer plays matriarch Claire Clauster, whose perfectionist tendencies always make for the best Christmases. However, when her kids forget about their own mother over the holidays, she’s forced to reflect on priorities. The official synopsis reads: “Claire is the glue that holds her chaotic, lovable family together every holiday season. From perfectly frosted cookies to meticulously wrapped gifts, no one decks the halls quite like Claire. But this year, as her grown kids and distracted husband get swept up in their own seasonal dramas, they make one crucial mistake: They forget their mom. By the time they realize she’s missing,...
