Kyle Loftus has been named President of Independent Artist Group, the agency announced on Wednesday.
Loftus is a homegrown success story who started at the agency 16 years ago as an intern, in its previous incarnation as APA, quickly moving up the ranks. He’s the rare agent to reach such heights in his 30s, at a time when achieving upward mobility in the ten-percenter business is fairly tricky. In addition to his new title, he will join the Iag Board of Directors.
In a statement on the appointment, Iag CEO Jim Osborne, a longtime mentor and partner of Loftus, said, “Kyle has been instrumental in building an architecture at Iag that allows us to seamlessly integrate innovative opportunities for our clients across all divisions. Through his leadership, we’ve created multiple strategic pathways to help our clients diversify and grow their businesses. His exceptional ability to connect talent, music, IP,...

After a tremendously difficult production that reportedly saw a significant chunk of it being retooled, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina debuted theatrically last week, only to go from the frying pan into the fire. The movie opened in the wake of two major releases, Disney's Lilo & Stitch remake and Paramount's Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, which certainly took the wind out of its sails. Ballerina underperformed in its first weekend of release, both domestically and worldwide. However, the action movie has already outperformed several comparable titles, such as three major Jason Statham films — Crank, The Transporter, and Expend4bles. More recently, the movie surpassed the lifetime global box office haul of Statham's largely forgotten 2013 release, Homefront.
Directed by Gary Fleder, the movie also featured James Franco, Winona Ryder, and Kate Bosworth. Homefront ended its run with $51 million at the worldwide box office, and earned a so-so 42% Rotten Tomatoes score.

The summer movie season of 2025 has been fruitful thus far, with movies like "Final Destination Bloodlines," "Mission: Impossible -- The Final Reckoning," and "Lilo & Stitch" bringing out patrons en masse to multiplexes all around the world. Unfortunately for Lionsgate, that party didn't continue as "Ballerina," aka "From the World of John Wick: Ballerina," opened far below expectations -- so much so that the studio might now have to reckon with the idea that its planned John Wick Cinematic Universe may not be as viable as it had hoped.
Director Len Wiseman's "Ballerina" opened to $24.5 million domestically this past weekend, coming in at number two behind "Lilo & Stitch" ($32.3 million), which is in its third weekend of release. Overseas, the "John Wick" spin-off earned $26 million, giving it a global start just north of $50 million. Against a $90 million budget and as part of a $1 billion franchise, that's not what Lionsgate was hoping for,...

One unique quality of the “John Wick” franchise — and one Lionsgate has been happy to tout — is that each entry in the series has been bigger than the last. Audiences can’t seem to get enough of “Wick.”
But for the franchise’s first (big screen) spinoff, one that’s introducing a new character and turns Keanu Reeves’ iconic Wick into a supporting character, it would not have been fair to expect “Ballerina” to continue that growth streak. Still, the Ana de Armas-led action film underperformed even with lower expectations. Opening to an estimated $25 million domestic, it’s lower than all but the original “Wick” movie from 2014, which opened to $14.4 million before becoming a sleeper hit.
Tracking suggested “Ballerina” could surpass $35 million domestic and take down “Lilo & Stitch” from the #1 spot. With $32.5 million, the Disney live-action remake will stay on top for a third week. And even Lionsgate...

The following contains spoilers for From the World of John Wick: Ballerina.
After dancing its way into the hearts of critics and audiences, Ballerinamay not be done making moves in the world of John Wick. Following the ambiguous ending of the acclaimed spinoff, director Len Wiseman hints at more to come from Ana de Armas' titular character.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Wiseman addressed the ending of Ballerina, where Eve Macarro (de Armas), faces a new mission after succeeding in her fight to avenge her father's murder. After receiving intel from The Continental's head honcho, Winston Scott (Ian McShane), and being warned by Keanu Reeves' Wick about potential consequences, Eve takes down the man responsible for her father's death, the Chancellor (Gabriel Byrne), with Wick's help and saves a little girl named Ella (Ava Joyce McCarthy), reuniting him with her father Daniel (Norman Reedus).
However, Eve later finds out that a...

Just because a movie or show is spun off from a hit doesn’t mean it will stand on its own. This is the case with pretty much everything that is linked to John Wick. We saw it over the weekend with Ballerina – which seriously underperformed at the box office – and we saw it with TV series The Continental. And while John Wick franchise head Chad Stahelski still has faith in Ballerina as a producer, he continues to look down upon The Continental.
Chad Stahelski recently sat down with The Hollywood Reporter for an extensive interview in which he discussed not only the John Wick movies but the multiple spin-offs that have been out and are in the works. One of the key takeaways that that he says those who actually worked on The Continental just assumed that because it was a John Wick spin-off that it would be a hit.

One really has to hand it to Keanu Reeves. The guy has a knack for starring in zeitgeist-defining action films, with him leading Point Break, Speed and The Matrix. Yet, perhaps his most iconic character, John Wick, is the most unlikely success story of them all. It was seen as an upstart indie flick which came close to going direct-to-video, only for it to become one of the most successful action franchises of all time, and a property that’s unlikely to die anytime soon, even if its own hero’s survival is kind of up in the air right now post John Wick 4. With Keanu Reeves reprising the role in Ballerina, now’s a good time to look back at how this little action franchise that could came to be.
Flashback to the fall of 2014. Keanu Reeves, while already a legend, was struggling to reinvent himself as a now middle-aged star.

Suited and booted, Yen turns to role as public prosector cum ass-kicking vigilante as a late-stage career recalibration
Developed by China’s Supreme People’s Procuratorate and directed by butt-kicking luminary Donnie Yen, The Prosecutor is a bizarre mashup of courtroom procedural and action flick; it is just as keen on lionising due process and the “shining light” of Chinese justice as it is on reducing civic infrastructure to smithereens in several standout bouts. But Yen, who looks undeniably good in a suit, is more convincing on his habitual fisticuff grounds than the jurisprudential ones.
Yen plays Fok, a one-time hotshot cop who – leaving the force after some over-zealous policing – decides to man the “final gate” of justice and become a public prosecutor. Like a low-carb Perry Mason with years of Brazilian jiu-jitsu behind him, trouble keeps knocking on his door. Suspecting that a young drug smuggler (Mason Yung) whose...

This story contains Spoilers for Ballerina.
Ballerina director Len Wiseman shared one of his original ideas for the John Wick spinoff’s ending sequences, which would have introduced another character. The filmmaker is no stranger to the action genre, after previously directing two Underworld movies, 2007’s Live Free or Die Hard, and 2012’s Total Recall.
During a recent interview with EW, Wiseman opened up about his alternate ending idea, which involves Eve’s supposedly dead mother. This scrapped ending’s surprising twist will not only reveal that Eve’s mother was alive all along, but it would have also shown Eve’s mother as the one who ordered the hit on her.
"At one point I had [in the script] that she meets her mother, and we never got there,” he said. “We were maybe going to shoot the scene, but that's always something that we hear, her mother's dead, but in this world,...

Lionsgate is touting the box office success of its new John Wick spin-off film, Ballerina. The film debuted in theaters on June 6 and has been well-received by critics and audiences.
In a press release from Lionsgate, the distributor bragged about Ballerina's impressive opening performance while sharing how much the film brought in during its first weekend. The John Wick spinoff film took in an estimated $25 million domestically this weekend while playing at 3,409 locations. Internationally, Ballerina opened in 82 countries and earned an estimated $26 million, bringing the film's global start to $51 million. It was #1 in numerous key territories, including the United Kingdom, Mexico and China.
"This is a solid start for a new character not introduced in any of the previous John Wick films," the press release reads. It also notes how the film is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes and has an equally impressive 94% audience score -- a franchise high...

While many (including us) went into this first weekend of June thinking that the John Wick spinoff, Ballerina, had a good shot at topping the weekend box office, it was not to be. In a huge upset for Lionsgate, whose entire summer slate rested on the shoulders of this big-budget flick, the Ana de Armas-led action movie had a modest, perhaps even disastrous, $25 million opening. While many will cite its $90 million budget and say it has a good chance of breaking even overseas, the company gave this a summer-movie build-up, and likely were hoping for an opening in the high-30s. As it is, it only opened with a fraction of what the most recent John Wick movies have opened at, proving that perhaps the audience fervour for a Wick-universe led film without Keanu Reeves as the star isn’t what they thought it might be. Indeed, one wonders...

“Ballerina” couldn’t twirl its way to the top of box office charts. The “John Wick” spinoff, starring Ana de Armas as a dancer-turned-assassin, launched slightly behind expectations with $25 million from 3,409 North American theaters.
The R-rated film opened in second place behind Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch,” which claimed the No. 1 spot for the third consecutive weekend with $32.5 million from 4,185 venues. The live-action reboot has generated $335.8 million domestically and $772 million globally and should soon become the year’s first billion-dollar release.
“Ballerina” earned a lackluster $26 million from 82 countries at the international box office for a global start of $51 million. Heading into the weekend, Lionsgate projected a domestic debut of $30 million for “Ballerina.” But even that would have been middling since the film cost $90 million to produce. Lionsgate typically covers two-thirds of its production budgets with international sales, which helps offset underperforming theatrical titles. However, the studio hopes that “Ballerina” will...

This article contains spoilers for Ballerina.
Ballerina is the first spinoff movie that takes place in the world of the John Wick films, but it definitely won't be the last. Aside from the other spinoff film that's currently in development starring Donnie Yen's John Wick: Chapter 4 character Caine (which the action star is also directing), it seems that Ana de Armas' Eve Macarro has a violent future ahead of her in a possible sequel. Len Wiseman, the director of Ballerina, took the time to talk about how the ending of the film would shape any future stories revolving around the character, as well as the fallout of her actions.
The ending of Ballerina sees Eve finally take her vengeance on the Chancellor (Gabriel Byrne), the leader of an unnamed cult that killed her father when she was a young girl, as shown in the beginning of the film.

This article contains spoilers for "Ballerina" and the John Wick franchise.
The head hotshot of "Ballerina," Eve (Ana de Armas), might be able to stand her ground against a cult and its leader (Gabriel Byrne), but it's clear after her tense altercation with a man sent to kill her that she can't get the best of John Wick (Keanu Reeves). At least, not at this point, anyway. As revealed in Len Wiseman's spin-off shoot-'em-up set in the world of the "John Wick" franchise, the story of "Ballerina" takes place between the third and fourth films, long before the showdown the end of "John Wick: Chapter 4." That's a long time for Eve to go it alone and become more of a killer than she already is, perhaps just in time for when the Baba Yaga comes back from the dead for a fifth film.

This article contains spoilers for "Ballerina."
After more than a decade of adventures with the world's most skilled assassin, the "John Wick" franchise is finally moving beyond Mr. Wick and Keanu Reeves. Lionsgate has released "Ballerina," aka "From the World of John Wick: Ballerina," the first spin-off in the larger John Wick Cinematic Universe. While Reeves does appear in the film as John Wick, the movie is mostly centered on a new protagonist, Eve Macarro, played by Ana de Armas.
As anyone who has ever seen any of the "John Wick" movies can surely tell you, these movies are practically overflowing with interesting supporting characters, and director Len Wiseman very much keeps that tradition alive with "Ballerina." One such character that Eve comes across on her journey of revenge is Daniel Pine, played by none other than Daryl Dixon Himself, "The Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus.

From the World of John Wick: Ballerina not only introduced a new assassin, but new, even crazier ways to kill people in this world.
Following Ballerina's theatrical release, director Len Wiseman spoke with IndieWire about joining the John Wick universe and creating set pieces that matched star Ana de Armas' strengths. This meant giving protagonist Eve Macarro a new arsenal of weapons, such as utilizing a pair of ice skates as lethal blades in the third act. Choreographing that fight meant buying a pair of regular skates, where he “put blood all over them and shot a few moves in my garage where she would use them like gauntlets on her hands,” then sharing his ideas with the stunt team at 87eleven so they could expand upon it.
Crucial to this collaboration, he added, was ensuring the fight doubled as an extension of de Armas' performance, stating, "Sometimes, the...

Lionsgate’s first theatrical stab at spinning off the “John Wick” franchise, the Ana de Armas-led “Ballerina,” fired off $10.65 million across Friday and preview screenings from 3,409 venues.
The actioner is now pacing a touch behind projections from earlier this week, looking at a debut between $25.5 million and $27.5 million as opposed to forecasts for $28 million. The opening day gross ranks as the second-lowest for the action franchise, falling just below the $10.96 million earned by “John Wick: Chapter 2” back in 2017.
On the one hand, some slowdown is expected for “Ballerina”: a property reset for the R-rated action franchise, with series star Keanu Reeves taking on a smaller supporting role this go-around. On the other, it’s a marked drop-off for “Wick,” which began with a sleeper hit in 2014 ($43 million in North America) and grew into a blockbuster tentpole by its fourth entry ($187 million and the ninth-highest-grossing domestic release of...

The following contains spoilers for From the World of John Wick: Ballerina.
John Wick director and co-creator Chad Stahelski, who served as a producer on Ballerina, reveals that he was initially against Keanu Reeves' return in the new movie. The new installment in the John Wick franchise centers around Ana de Armas' new assassin, Eve Macarro, who was raised by the Director of the Ruska Roma after her father's death. Reeves reprised his role as John Wick, aka the Baba Yaga, sent to put an end to Eve's pursuit of revenge.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Stahelski opened up about Reeves' role in Ballerina and why he was against it at first. The franchise's co-creator revealed that Wick "wasn't in the original script," but with John Wick: Chapter 4 leveling up the game, he saw the benefit in having Reeves return, which could make Lee Wiseman's Ballerina spinoff much more appealing.

Ballerina now ties for a Rotten Tomatoes record with another John Wick movie. Ana de Armas leads the franchise's first movie spinoff, with her character Eve Macarro seeking revenge against an unorthodox organization, Cult. Although the spinoff faced several delays and reported reshoots, it finally made its way to theaters, with critical reception trending generally positive. ScreenRant's Rachel Labonte gave Ballerina a 6 out of 10 stars, praising de Armas' performance while noting issues with the plot and silly villain. Overall, the spinoff has a 71% on Rotten Tomatoes, and it's the lowest among the whole John Wick movie franchise.
However, per Rotten Tomatoes,Ballerina now ties with John Wick: Chapter 4 with the best audience score in the entire franchise. With over 500 audience ratings calculated, the spinoff currently has a 93% Popcornmeter. While the score is likely to change as more moviegoers see the newest installment, it does show that the general audience...

The John Wick franchise kicked off over a decade ago with the Keanu Reeves-led action film of the same name, which was released in 2014. Since then, the action franchise has received three sequels, a spinoff prequel series, and a spinoff feature film that just premiered in theaters, Ballerina.
Ballerina follows Ana de Armas' Eve Macarro, a ballerina-assassin, who begins to train in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma and sets out to exact revenge for her father's death. The spinoff is set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4 and also brings back Reeves' John Wick, who has a meaningful appearance. As Ballerina debuted with mild reactions from the critics, the audience was even more enthusiastic about the spin-off, and the new entry in the John Wick franchise is challenging the film series' best film yet, John Wick: Chapter 4, for...

“Ballerina,” Lionsgate’s attempt to expand its “John Wick” franchise, earned $3.75 million in preview screenings on Thursday.
The action spinoff stars Ana de Armas as a dancer turned assassin, obsessed with extracting revenge over her father’s murder. “Ballerina” is expected to gross between $28 million to $30 million from 3,400 North American locations in its first weekend of release. Overseas, where the film is opening in 82 markets, it should pick up another $30 million. The film’s full title is the insanely clunky, focus-tested within an inch of its life, nearly as long as its 125 minute running time, “From the World of John Wick: Ballerina.”
Keanu Reeves has starred in four “John Wick” films and makes in appearance in “Ballerina.” But the film is being carried by de Armas, an Oscar-nominee for “Blonde,” as well as the star of more mainstream fare such as “Knives Out” and “No Time to Die.” The film,...

The John Wick universe continues to expand — and this time, it’s Donnie Yen’s turn in the spotlight. Lionsgate recently confirmed that Yen will not only reprise his role as the blind assassin Caine from John Wick: Chapter 4but also direct the upcoming spin-off, set to begin filming in Hong Kong later this year. According to director Chad Stahelski, the project is a full-blown tribute to the kung-fu genre and marks a major tonal shift from the Wick entries we’ve seen so far — what does that mean? Well, for one, it might mean there's no Wick in a Wick spin-off.
“The Donnie Yen spinoff doesn’t have the John Wick character. It’s got Donnie Yen and it’s an ode to kung fu movies. If John Wick 1 was about Charles Bronson and Lee Marvin, this is about Chow Yun-fat, John Woo and Wong Kar-wai. So I think...

As well as Ballerina, which releases in theaters today (June 6), Lionsgate previously confirmed that another John Wick spin-off was in development. Following the release of Chapter 4 in 2023, fans fell in love with Donnie Yen's blind assassin, Caine, who had a long history with Keanu Reeves' John Wick. The fan reception around Caine was so strong that Lionsgate and Chad Stahelski announced that a spin-off movie starring the character is in development. Progress on the film appears to be going strong, but Stahelski has given a major update about Caine that will surely leave fans disappointed.
During Chad Stahelski's conversation with The Hollywood Reporter to promote From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, the director gave a much-needed update on the upcoming Caine spin-off film. Donnie Yen is already confirmed to star in the film (it wouldn't be much of a movie without him). But, with Reeves making a cameo in Ballerina,...

After four movies and killing nearly 1000 people, Keanu Reeves' time as the iconic assassin came to an end in 2023's John Wick: Chapter 4... or did it? Following the film's release and dominating box office success, franchise director Chad Stahelski said that he and Keanu Reeves were having discussions about John Wick 5, despite Chapter 4 bringing the character's arc to a very definitive close. With the upcoming release of Ballerina, the first feature film spin-off, Stahelski has updated fans about the future of the John Wick franchise, and things are looking positive.
Chad Stahelski spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about his work on the John Wick franchise, Ballerina, the Wick Is Pain documentary, and the possibility of John Wick 5. "I’m not going to lie to you, it’s a bit of a conundrum," Stahelski said of (spoiler alert!) killing John Wick at the end of Chapter 4. The last time the...

Keanu Reeves’ appearance in Ballerina may not be a secret, but it was something John Wick director Chad Stahelski was initially opposed to.
“[Wick’s appearance] wasn’t in the original script,” Stahelski told THR. “To be honest, I was kind of against it. But I do see the benefit and we wanted to help out [director Len Wiseman]. We had just opened John Wick 4 and it was huge. He couldn’t go back to the model of the first John Wick and do a little $18 million indie thing and try to build it up. In order to stay in the same game, you got to give him a fighting chance. And the easiest way to transfer that over — at least, from the studio point of view — was have Wick in Ballerina in a special timeline.“
It sounds like Stahelski would have preferred if Ballerina stood alone, but understood that an appearance from...

Two years after his presumed death in John Wick: Chapter 4, Keanu Reeves' title assassin is back in the franchise's first spinoff Ballerina. With another spinoff about to begin filming, franchise boss Chad Stahelski has revealed whether fans can expect an appearance from John Wick in that as well.
In an extensive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Stahelski touched on the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 4 spinoff Caine, which will be centered around Donnie Yen's assassin Caine. Ballerina is finally hitting screens this weekend and our Editor-in-Chief, Chris Bumbray, was happy to report that despite a delay for lengthy reshoots, the film is still a lot of fun. He says in his review, “Ballerina is one of the more satisfying franchise spin-offs in recent memory. In this era of IP, every studio is desperate to max out the potential sequels and spinoffs their key franchises can handle, and Lionsgate has a whole slew planned around the John Wick franchise. Yet, what makes Ballerina different is that this doesn’t feel like much of a derivative of the franchise.”
Ballerina joins The Continental in attempting to expand the John Wick universe and Lionsgate had also announced that Donnie Yen would be reprising his role from Chapter 4 as Caine in a solo outing. While Reeves was brought in to merge Ballerina with Wick‘s world, franchise director Chad Stahelski...

John Wick creator Chad Stahelski is attempting one of the trickiest pivots in Hollywood: Turn a series of hit movies with a dead hero into a broader franchise. His four John Wick films starring Keanu Reeves as a stoic ronin gunslinger have been a rousing success for studio Lionsgate. But his last effort, 2023’s John Wick: Chapter 4, killed off its world-weary protagonist in a finale that felt perfectly fitting. After the film grossed nearly half a billion dollars, Lionsgate and Stahelski suddenly had a high-class problem: John Wick the franchise clearly has a lot more life left in it, while the John Wick character was seemingly six feet under.
What to do? Lionsgate attempted (without Stahelski and Reeves) a Peacock spinoff TV limited series titled The Continental, which fell flat (Stahelski has thoughts about this). This week sees the release of the franchise’s first spinoff movie, Ballerina, which...

Ballerina has gotten its debut Rotten Tomatoes score. While the new John Wick spinoff has debuted fresh, it comes with a caveat.
Currently, with its early reviews, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina has a score of 76% on Rotten Tomatoes. John Wick: Chapter 4 is still the highest at 95%, while the others include John Wick at 86%, John Wick: Chapter 2 at 89%, and John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum at 89%. Ballerina has a stronger score than the Peacock prequel series, The Continental, which is scored at 63%.

Will audiences care about the world of “John Wick” without the titular nunchuck-wielding hitman, portrayed by Keanu Reeves across four films, as the star of the show?
Lionsgate will find out this weekend as “Ballerina,” a spinoff starring Ana de Armas as a dancer who packs a punch, opens in theaters on Friday. The film is targeting a fair start of $28 million to $30 million from 3,400 North American locations in its first weekend of release. “Ballerina” looks to add another $30 million from 82 markets the international box office.
That’s a drop from the core series, which has grown in popularity since the original “John Wick” opened to $14 million in 2014. From there, each new entry has improved upon the last at the box office with 2017’s “John Wick: Chapter 2” bowing to $30.4 million, 2019’s “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” launching to $56.8 million and 2023’s “John Wick: Chapter 4” debuting to a series-best $73.8 million.

“John Wick” came out of nowhere to become the most influential action movie of the 2010s, changing Hollywood’s approach to stunt work. After audiences had grown tired of the relentless use of CGI within larger blockbusters, “John Wick” provided an opportunity for stunt performers to show the merits of practicality. Although he had faced a period of critical decline in the aftermath of “The Matrix” sequels, Keanu Reeves returned with a vengeance to deliver one of the defining performances of his career. The now-infamous line of “I’m thinking I’m back” feels like a not-so-subtle reference to his own trajectory as a movie star.
“John Wick” has spawned many imitators, as the notion of a ruthless, darkly comedic revenge thriller has taken hold of Hollywood; films such as “Nobody,” “Atomic Blonde,” “The Beekeeper,” and “Monkey Man” certainly wouldn’t have existed without the groundwork that “John Wick” established.

It's John Wick's world, and we're just living in it. The franchise that began as a mid-budget action movie in 2014 has evolved into a worldwide success, as Chad Stahelski's vision of an unstoppable master assassin has been expertly brought to life across four different films. Each entry has had incredible Gun-fu fight choreography, impressive practical stunts, and a subdued and iconic performance from franchise star Keanu Reeves. Now, the first interconnected film that doesn't star the actor, Ballerina, will be hitting theaters soon, and the director has recently explained how the film isn't really a spinoff or sequel to the John Wick movies.
In an interview with CinemaBlend, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina director Len Wiseman spoke about the creative integrity of his upcoming action film. While the project has been heavily marketed as being directly connected to the John Wick movies, Wiseman doesn't see the...

We’re just over a week away from the release of Ballerina, but leading star Ana de Armas is already teasing her John Wick future. Ballerina dances into theaters everywhere one week from today, and in addition to introducing Armas’ Eve as the franchise’s next dangerous assassin, Keanu Reeves will also reprise his role as John Wick in the film. Despite what seemed like a very clear-cut death at the end of John Wick: Chapter 4, it’s also been confirmed that Reeves will return as John Wick once more in John Wick 5, which is in development with director Chad Stahelski returning. During a recent interview with The Direct to promote Ballerina, Armas was asked if it would make sense for Eve to show up in the fifth John Wick movie:
"That would be really cool. I would love that. Why not? I mean, they already know each other, right?...

The lead actor of the anticipated John Wick spinoff, Ballerina, wants in on the main saga chronicling Keanu Reeves' revered assassin. Ana de Armas recently addressed the potential of her character, Eve Macarro, appearing in John Wick 5, saying it would be an "amazing" opportunity.
Speaking with The Direct at the John Wick Experience in Las Vegas, de Armas confirmed she's open to the opportunity, especially given that Wick and Macarro would have established their connection in Ballerina, setting a basis for any future interactions. "That would be really cool," she said. "I would love that. Why not? I mean, they already know each other, right? Like, why wouldn't it? I would love that. That would be amazing."
Despite the ending of Chapter 4, which seemingly saw the demise of Wick following a climactic battle with Donnie Yen's Caine, Lionsgate confirmed the development of John Wick 5shortly after the last sequel's release.

A scene from The Prosecutor. Courtesy of Well Go USA Entertainment
I’ve previously described Donnie Yen as a Chinese Gary Cooper, projecting a calm, unshakable integrity that endures in the midst of chaos. His outings as Ip Man, and more recently as John’s blind, but still lethal, frenemy in John Wick 4 make the point solidly. In The Prosecutor, Yen stars as a tough cop who grows frustrated with a legal system that lets too many violent perps elude the consequences of their crimes, despite all the cops endure to get them arrested and indicted. After a particularly aggravating enforcement failure, he quits the force and spends seven years in school to qualify for joining the ranks of the eponymous part of the system.
The premise cuts down on the usual amount of action in Yen’s movies, but still leaves room for a few particularly gratifying fight sequences.

The John Wick franchise premiered over a decade ago. After four films in the original series and a prequel spinoff series, the franchise will continue with the upcoming first spinoff film, Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas.
After a one-year delay, Ballerina is slated for release on June 6. The upcoming action film follows Eve Macarro, a ballerina-assassin introduced in John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum, and will bring back Reeves as the legendary assassin. Ahead of the film's release in theaters, the best John Wick film, 2023's John Wick: Chapter 4, is topping the charts on Peacock, per FlixPatrol.
John Wick: Chapter 4 has been in the charts for the past week. It has ranged between the third and fourth place, but on May 25, it officially catapulted to the top of the charts. The film had also attracted attention on Amazon Prime in different locations earlier this week, including Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.
