Bergen was a Regents Scholar in Chemistry at UC Berkely with a 4.0 GPA. Her secret dream, however, was to be an actress and writer. During her senior year she abruptly changed her major and school and graduated with a BA in Drama from UC Davis in 1989. She has never looked back.
