TLC was forced to cancel upcoming performances after T-Boz experienced “severe abdominal blockage.”

Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins suffered a medical emergency ahead of the group’s August 23 performance at the New York State Fair.

“Shortly after arriving in Syracuse, Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins experienced sudden and severe nausea, vomiting, and intense abdominal cramps,” read a statement from TLC. “She was immediately seen by a doctor and subsequently taken to the hospital for further evaluation.”

Diagnosed with “a severe abdominal blockage,” the group, which is also composed of Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, had to cancel their shows in Syracuse and Foxwoods.

“The doctor verified that this was not food poisoning, but an abdominal blockage,” the statement continued. “Tionne deeply regrets having to cancel these shows and extends her sincere apologies to all her fans and the event promoters. The decision to cancel was made under the advisement of her physician, who required her to...

TLC wouldn’t be complete without Rozanda ‘Chilli’ Thomas, but there was once a time when she almost wasn’t in the equation.

In an exclusive interview with People, the soulful songstress, 52, candidly remembers the group’s formation while discussing Lifetime’s upcoming documentary on the generation-defining group, “TLC Forever”.

“I’m the momma of the group,” Chilli recounts of the Grammy-winning girl group, which also featured Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes.

However, Chilli didn’t always hold a prominent position in the group, and surprisingly to some, she was almost kicked out of the group.

The year was 1992 when over 30,000 people died of the deadly sexually transmitted disease, AIDS. By the end of that year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had announced that it had also become the number one cause of death for men aged 25-44 in the United States. And yet the mention of a life-saving condom was too taboo to talk, let alone sing, about.

Enter that same year, a new all-female singing group and their song, “Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg.” Just like that, while people were literally dying from having sex, in a way that wasn’t didactic or preaching, T-Boz, Left Eye, and Chilli, known as TLC, made wearing protective condoms — even on one’s clothes and on top of one’s eyes — cool. They were immediately deemed controversial by the media and simultaneously solidified their place in history as having used music to affect cultural change across the globe.

Lifetime and A+E Networks released the first trailer for “TLC Forever,” a two-hour documentary detailing the rise and enduring legacy of the girl group.

In the trailer, remaining members Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas — Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes died after a car accident in 2002 — reflect on their meteoric rise to become the bestselling girl group of all time in America.

Having sold over 85 million records worldwide, the group soared to success, scored nine top 10 hits and winning over 35 major awards including the video of the year Award for “Waterfalls.” But amid the success came in-group fighting and obstacles that included external attacks, bankruptcy and illness. “How are we meant to fight against the world if we’re fighting internally?” the duo asks in the trailer.

In an exclusive clip from TLC's Broadway at the White House, the Tony-winning actress sings "For Good" from Wicked with New Jersey student Rachel Levy.

This Thanksgiving, Chenoweth is co-hosting Broadway at the White House with Glee's Matthew Morrison. In the one-hour special, Levy, 17, and 39 other high school students participate in an all-day symposium on careers in theater.

The special includes a guest appearance by first lady Michelle Obama as well as appearances from Broadway veterans like Whoopi Goldberg, Christian Borle, Gloria Estefan, Cicely Tyson and more.

Joy Behar will host a new TLC late night talk show, the network announced Friday. The show, operating under the working title “Late Night Joy,” is a half-hour talker set inside “The View” host’s New York City apartment.
