Family Law Season 1 Episode 10 Review: Legacy
Victor Garber, Jewel Staite, Genelle Williams, and Zach Smadu in Family Law (2021)
Legacy. Every parent dreams of creating something to pass down to their children.

Family Law Season 1 Episode 10 explored two different fathers, Bryan Beasley and Harry Svensson, and their relationships with their children. It asked whether nature vs. nurture was more critical in a controversial case.

As someone who studied psychology and was adopted, this was a fascinating debate to me. Children thrive and grow up to be similar to the parents that raised them.

Why are these DNA kits so popular? Bryan thought he and Nina would find more cousins, yet that kit only showed they weren't related, leading to drama in the finale.

While Bryan Beasley has seemed over the top at times, he's always shown love toward Nina and would do anything to keep her happy. Finding out the truth was pivotal.

Family Law Season 1 Episode 6 Review: Baby Off Board
Philip Sterling in Les craquantes (1985)
The heartwrenching cases during National Adoption Month continue.

Watching the prospective adoptive birth parents and the birth mom argue over Kirin's fate on Family Law Season 1 Episode 6 tugged at our heartstrings.

We've seen this story before where prospective adoptive parents worry the child's medical condition will be too much for them. As someone who was adopted as a baby, this breaks my heart.

My adoptive parents discovered I had certain medical conditions when I was an infant, and they never returned me. That particular TV storyline is always tricky for me since I believe what Abby and Lucy think that they committed that child.

Regardless of specialists or surgeries, that child is bonded to them. Abby doesn't want them to make that decision lightly...

Review: "Me, Natalie" (1969) Starring Patty Duke; Kino Lorber Blu-ray Release
Image
Normal 0 false false false En-us X-none X-none

By Todd Garbarini

Natalie is a homely and painfully shy young girl with an overbite who hides under her bed when boys disparage her looks, going so far as to knocking their teeth out with a shovel when they, no pun intended, mouth off to her about her less-than-spectacular looks. She constantly needs assurance from others that her plain appearance will one day segue way to something attractive enough to command the attention of members of the opposite sex. The person she looks up to the most, Uncle Harold, is a sweet man who refers to her as “princess” and assures her that she will blossom into a butterfly from the cocoon she has wrapped herself up in. Her “knight in shining armor” fantasy of him is shattered one evening at dinner when Uncle Harold (Martin Balsam) brings his girlfriend, an attractive middle-aged stripper,...
