Stars: D.Y. Sao, Brian Le, Bear Williams, Sahajak Boontanakij, Ron Smoorenburg | Written by Laurence Walsh | Directed by Chaya Supannarat
Our story kicks off with Special Agent Andrew Kang (D.Y. Sao), a U.S.-based operative with a serious love for solving problems with his fists or more accurately, his entire arsenal of martial arts skills. After a drug bust in Los Angeles uncovers a shipment laced with tragedy (five dead bodies stashed among the contraband), Kang worms his way into an undercover mission in Bangkok. His task? Impersonate a captured cartel operative, Benz Wu (Brian Le), and dismantle a ruthless Thai crime syndicate from the inside. The plot is straightforward in fact it’s almost skeletal, but that’s by design and really not an issue for me. The script knows its role: it’s a bullet point checklist that accommodates the real spectacle, the fights and it executes that role with flawless precision.

Last year, we learned that, forty-nine years after playing a major role in the Steven Spielberg classic Jaws (and fourteen years after making an appearance in Alexandre Aja’s Piranha 3D), Richard Dreyfuss had been cast in another film that promises to be packed with aquatic thrills, Vigilante Diaries director Christian Sesma’s Into the Deep. The film received a digital, On Demand, and limited theatrical release last Friday, and will be getting a DVD and Blu-ray release in the UK on February 3rd. To promote these releases, a clip from the film has dropped online and can be seen in the embed above. Dreyfuss got attacked while in a cage in Jaws, and this clip shows Into the Deep‘s version of a cage attack.

"We look forward to seeing you fight." Republic Pictures via Paramount has unveiled the official trailer for Art of Eight Limbs - the title is just another term for Muay Thai Boxing. The martial arts action movie is playing in select theaters now before it's on VOD later this month. A small release that we've barely heard about. Four canisters of deadly Vx nerve gas have fallen into the hands of an arms dealer in Myanmar. A CIA data analyst goes undercover to infiltrate a martial arts tournament that masks an auction of the deadly nerve gas, where he finds himself as the last hope against a time-ticking global threat. Can he pull off a win and save the world? Chinese-Canadian actor Ludi Lin (who played Liu Kang in the recent 2021 Mortal Kombat movie) stars as the CIA analyst. The cast includes Thai actors Sahajak Boonthanakit & Vithaya Pansringarm, both were...

Nicolas Cage disappears early on in "Outcast" after a promising opening sequence, leaving fans feeling misled. Cage's brief and critically panned performance in the movie highlights the casting deception that occurred. "Outcast" tricks audiences with Cage's top billing, only to deliver a disappointing and forgettable action epic.
Few actors are as unpredictable as Nicolas Cage, the immensely talented Oscar-winning actor known for going way over the top in some performances. Fans never know what they're getting when Cage appears onscreen, be it a committed and grounded turn like Pig and Dream Scenario or a flagrantly histrionic outing like Mandy or Vampire's Kiss. However, fans rarely enter a Nicolas Cage movie expecting his character to vanish in the first few minutes.
Yet that's precisely what occurs in Outcast, a Chinese action-western released in 2015 starring Hayden Christensen. Despite taking top billing, Nicolas Cage appears in the fiery opening battle sequence, only...

Fifty years after the release of horror classic Jaws, star Richard Dreyfuss is headed back into shark-infested waters in the upcoming Into the Deep, The Daily Jaws reports this week.
Scout Taylor-Compton (Halloween) stars alongside Dreyfuss in the film.
In director Christian Sesma’s (Section 8) new movie Into the Deep, “A group of divers searching for sunken treasure witness the murder of drug dealers by modern-day pirates, but a killer great white is determined not to let any of them escape its waters.”
The cast also includes Stuart Townsend, Jon Seda, AnnaMaria Demara, Ron Smoorenburg, Lorena Sarria, Callum McGowan, Maverick Kang Jr., Tom O’Connell, and Tofan Pirani.
We don’t yet have a trailer or any release information, but a poster available on IMDb (seen below) teases the Alien-inspired tagline: “Under water, no one can hear you scream.”

"This isn't a job anymore... it's turned into a war." Saban has revealed an official trailer for Hellhound, an action thriller from Thailand made by an American filmmaker named Joshua Dixon originally from Texas. This will be getting a VOD release directly in January for anyone who wants to watch this. Otherwise, just skip it, you won't miss much. Ready to leave his profession behind, Loreno, an assassin, lends help to an old friend, Cetan, and taking one last job in Thailand seeking out a local kingpin. A judgment lapse violently crosses paths with an old colleague Paul. Louis Mandylor stars in this new action thriller - a seasoned hitman on the cusp of retirement finds himself pulled back into the deadly world he is yearning to leave behind. Also starring Vithaya Pansringarm, Van Quattro, Jirayu Yimamphai, Ron Smoorenburg, and Tofan Pirani. Yet another extremely generic action movie to ignore.

The legendary Bruce Lee set the bar for martial arts films, and there are many fight scenes since his time that have risen to the standards he set. Bruce Lee first gained attention through his role as Kato on The Green Hornet, and later grew into a rising star in his native Hong Kong with kung fu movies like The Big Boss, Fist of Fury, and his directorial debut The Way of the Dragon. Though he tragically passed away just weeks before the release of 1973's Enter the Dragon, the movie became an all-time martial arts classic and forever after cemented Bruce Lee as a legend.
Bruce Lee also set a whole new standard for fight scenes in martial arts films during his time, and it is one that sits at the pinnacle of on-screen fight choreography. With such a powerful example set by Bruce Lee, many filmmakers and martial...

If you were at all interested in Triple Threat, it’s most likely going to be from the casting. Tony Jaa, Iko Uwasis, and Scott Adkins? Those are some good attention grabbing names. Throw in the always reliable Michael Jai White and the interesting forms of Tiger Chen and now I’m raising an eyebrow. But wait there’s more! Chocolate’s Jeeja Yanin is also along for the ride as well as Who Am I’s rooftop kicker Ron Smoorenburg. Don’t forget about some obligatory Mma fighters and now you have my attention. So what could possible go wrong? There’s no need to go into the plot of this movie because it’s just there to have the stars run into each other at random moments and fight/shoot their way...

Not that previous years didn’t have their fair share of action, but with all due respect to Erik Matti or Tsui Hark or Wu Jing, “Triple Threat” is the film so impatiently expected that the question “Is “Triple Threat” a triple treat?” is more palpable than Tony Jaa`s knee in solar plexus. "We find them, we kill them, no messin' about." Well Go USA has debuted a brief teaser trailer for the new action film Triple Threat, from stuntman-turned-director Jesse V. Johnson, who also has the film Savage Dogs being released this year. Triple Threat features one hell of a kick ass cast - mainly action superstars Tony Jaa and Iko Uwais teaming up, along with more action stars: Michael Jai White, Scott Adkins, Celina Jade, Michael Bisping, Selina Lo, JeeJa Yanin, Ron Smoorenburg, and Tiger Hu Chen. Not that the plot matters much with this cast, but it's about a team of mercenaries who must take on a group of professional assassins and stop them before they kill an important woman. This looks like it'll be badass. Here's the very first teaser trailer for Jesse V. Johnson's Triple Threat, direct from YouTube: A hit contract is taken out on a...
