Marvel's First Live-Action X-Men Attempt Went Horribly Wrong
Image
In November of 1994, Marvel Comics launched an X-Men title to feature an almost all-brand-new crop of teen characters called, collectively, Generation X. The team consisted of the established X-Woman Jubilee, joined by striking superpowered high-schoolers like Chamber, Husk, Skin, Mondo, M, and Synch. The team was overseen by Banshee and the White Queen, and their adventures aimed to be hipper and edgier -- in that MTV sort of way -- than those of their adult counterparts.

"Generation X" was a modest hit with comics readers, but not enough to stick around indefinitely. The series ended after three years and 75 issues. The characters, however, were perfect fodder for a "young 'n' hip" version of the X-Men, a fact that TV producers at Fox latched onto. In 1996, Fox executive producer Eric Blakeney, one of the writers of "21 Jump Street," felt he could take his previous show's "teens as undercover law enforcers" shtick,...

“Randall is like family,” Vicky Cornell said in a statement.

Complete Angel reviews: I Will Remember You
Fans of the Buffy/Angel franchises got a double helping of crossover episodes in late November 1999. With Angel skulking in the shadows in Sunnydale for Pangs, Buffy repaid the compliment by going to La to yell at her former squeeze. If the lacklustre Pangs kept the two apart, then I Will Remember You sees them finally achieve their goal of being a regular, loved-up couple.

At least for 20-ish minutes, any road. This is Angel, don't forget. The man doesn't brood without good reason, given that he's a walking bad luck magnet. I Will Remember You sums up Angel's somewhat hapless existence in that he has to give up the one thing that he's ever wanted in order to be the champion for good. For the more weepy of Angel fans, be warned: you may flood your own lounge by crying rivers in the last five minutes of this episode.

On everybody being ‘a breath away from prison’ and what to expect from the upcoming season of Orange is the New Black:

“The thing that I love about this show is the idea that everybody is kind of a breath away from prison. This season that...

On her first model experience:

"It was one of those dreams I never thought would come true. Every kid has an unrealistic like, 'I'm going to be an astronaut,' but no one becomes one. I know it sounds so cliched, but I never thought I was pretty. I was the tallest in my class and very skinny, and no boys liked me. I was at a casting at Img, and they asked me to do a modeling contest.

Blast From The Past: Behind-the-Scenes at Channing Tatum’s Randall Slavin Photo Shoot for Entertainment Weekly
Tweet

In 2007, Entertainment Weekly picked Channing Tatum as one of their brightest new stars, and in the article was a photo from a shoot Chan did with celebrity photographer Randall Slavin. That same year, a ton of outtakes from the photo shoot hit the scene.

Today, I have some behind-the-scenes pics of Chan that Randall recently posted on his blog and shared a bit of background info about the shoot…

These are from a recent shoot I did with actor Channing Tatum at 5th & Sunset studios in Los Angeles, CA. We had built a great little set with Mexican religious icons and Lotteria cards. I took Channing outside and did another set-up with my dog Dickie. Sadly, Entertainment Weekly didn’t run the shot with Dickie.

Fans can check out all of the photos from the shoot on today’s post in the Channing Tatum Unwrapped Photo Gallery. Enjoy!!!

Randall Slavin
Randall Slavin

As a new mom to 4-month-old daughter Harper Renn, Tiffani Thiessen has started to adjust to the sleepless nights and never-ending feeding schedule — sort of.

“I’m overwhelmed, but for all the right reasons,” she says. Now if only she could get her baby girl to slow down a little.

“She rolled over really quickly, which kind of scared the crap out of me,” says Thiessen, 36. “She’s already been scooting for a couple of weeks now! I think she’s going to be an early walker, which frightens me.”

Then again, Harper has to keep up with...
