Ted Rusoff
Canadian-born voice actor Ted Rusoff gave voice (usually uncredited) to hundreds of Italian films as one of the most prolific voiceover artists of his time. The son of screenwriter Lou Rusoff and nephew to B-movie titan Samuel Z. Arkoff, Rusoff got his start in showbusiness as a singer, specializing in foreign-language songs. He relocated to Italy in the early 1960s as a voice actor and translator for his uncle Arkoff's American International Pictures, translating and dubbing foreign films into English for the US import market. He worked as sync-adapter and dubbing director of more than 500 films, and as a dubber his voice can be heard in more than 1000 films, providing the voice for numerous leading men as well as many villains in a number of Italian cult favorites such as Le Corps et le Fouet (1963), Les Frissons de l'angoisse (1975), L'étrange vice de Madame Wardh (1971), and many others. He also worked extensively dubbing films into Italian and French, often supplying foreign languages or accents. Later in his career, he began appearing in more live-acting roles, usually for American productions shot in Italy. He was married to fellow voice actor Carolyn De Fonseca. He passed away in 2013.
