    In the late 1950s, Pedi's face became know to almost every American when he appeared for over four years as "Charlie", the washing machine repairman, on the famous Dash commercials. He was also the first Maytag Repairman in television commercials, predating Jesse White who became more familiar due to the amount of time he spent with this product.
