  • Trivia
Auditioned for the role of Mammy in Autant en emporte le vent (1939), but lost the role to Hattie McDaniel. Surviving screen tests of the pre-barbecue corset-lacing scene between Mammy and Scarlet, with Paulette Goddard and Joan Bennett as Scarlet, have survived.
