People often cite his way of picking up a very basic plot and turning it into a harrowing story that one won’t be able to put down. It would be a crime to call his movies basic, even though they play with the same run-of-the-mill, tried-and-tested themes of deceit, love, betrayal, crime, and violence. Mumbai, June 7 (Ians) Actor Eijaz Khan, who is receiving a lot of positive response for his work in the recently released streaming series ‘City of Dreams’, has shared that he would want to know the backstory of his character Wasim Khan if the series progresses into its fourth season.

Talking about his character, Eijaz Khan said: “I am so glad and thankful to the audience for the love they have given Wasim Khan and I am not surprised as the character and the dialogues are extremely well written. If season 4 was to be made and there had to be an audience I would like to know Wasim Khan’s backstory with Ameya Rao Gaikwad, Jagdish Gurav and Jiten Kaka and other characters.”

Mumbai, May 26 (Ians) Actress Priya Bapat, who can be seen in the third season of the streaming show ‘City of Dreams’ released on Friday, has lavished praise on the director of the show, Nagesh Kukunoor, saying that working with him has left an impact on her as an actress.

Elaborating on the same, the actress told Ians: “I definitely believe that Nagesh sir has a great impact on me as an actor. Working with him is the best thing that has happened to me in my entire career. It is a process of rediscovering yourself. He makes you explore new facets of your own craft and personality. He will help you unlearn things that you’ve been doing for a while but adds no additional value to what you are performing I learned how to approach the character. In this season, there were scenes that start on a note and end somewhere unexpected.

Mumbai, May 16 (Ians) Actress Priya Bapat, who is gearing up for the new season of ‘City of Dreams’, has shared how director Nagesh Kuknoor influenced the actress in her, and impacted her choices.

Talking about their bond, Priya Bapat said, “I believe 100 per cent that Nagesh Kuknoor has had a great impact on me as an actor. Working with him was the best thing that has ever happened to me in my entire career. I believe that working with Nagesh Kukunoor Sir is actually rediscovering yourself as an actor, because he really makes you understand and discover new things in yourself that probably exist and are there in you but you have never seen them.”

Actor Y Gee Mahendra’s popular stage play ‘Charukesi’ is all set to be made into a movie. Tamil superstar Rajinikanth made this announcement at the 50th show of ‘Charukesi’ at Vani Mahal in Chennai. He also kickstarted the project with the customary ‘clap’.

Rajinikanth said: “In 1975, when I went to see the play ‘Ragasiyam Parama Ragasiyam’, I was not allowed in. But now I am here as the special guest at the 50th show of ‘Charukesi’. This is all an act of time.:

He added: “Popular actors, including Nagesh, Jayalalithaa, Cho, Visu, and so on, are from the Uaa theatre troupe. It is a disciplined troupe with many educated people and experts from various fields.”

He continued: “As far as this drama is concerned, the story, screenplay, characters and dialogues are all well placed.

K. Balachander, the veteran filmmaker, has been conferred the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2010. The award is conferred by the Government of India for outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian Cinema.

The award consists of a Swarn Kamal (Golden Lotus), a cash prize of Rs.10 lakhs and a shawl. The award is given on the recommendations of a committee of eminent persons.
