Elisabeth Müller(1926-2006)

Brunette Swiss leading lady of the 1950's, often in tragic or fragile roles. She was trained at the Zurich Schauspielhaus and first appeared on stage with the Deutsches Theater in Goettingen. On the strength of her starring role in Le destructeur (1954), she went to Hollywood to replace Maria Schell opposite Robert Taylor in Les grands de ce monde (1956). This did not lead to stardom, however. After several other minor film roles, she devoted herself increasingly to theatrical work from 1960.
