'John Wick's Most Underrated Killer Delivers Action Movie Glory in Trailer for Twisted Sci-Fi Thriller
Image
Nothing stops revenge. The John Wick franchise’s most underrated killer, and still one of the most underrated martial artists in the action movie game, takes center stage in the blistering new trailer for next month’s hard-hitting action thriller.

Led by John Wick: Chapter 4 star Marko Zaror, Affinity is one (small) part love story and one-part unrelenting action extravaganza, as the actor and martial artist finds his dark past catching up with him (doesn’t it always?) who hurls himself back into action when the love of his life mysteriously disappears. If that was not already enticing enough, Affinity also contains a sci-fi twist that you won’t quite believe.

Vince Vaughn Failed His Audition For One Of The Best Sitcoms Of All Time
Image
Vince Vaughn might not be at the height of his powers anymore, but he's still got it, as evidenced by the Vaughn-led comedy "Nonnas" dominating Netflix's top charts in 2025. Still, while his Netflix success was a big win for the actor, whose other major recent project is Apple TV+'s "Bad Monkey," it's nothing compared to his historic early 2000s run.

Vaughn made his acting debut in "Rudy," the 1993 sports drama biopic that told the story of Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger and his struggles to play college football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Vaughn had a small role as Notre Dame tailback Jamie O'Hara in the film, who helps the titular player on his path to finally landing a spot on the Fighting Irish roster. But Vaughn wouldn't truly break through until he starred in the 1996 comedy "Swingers," one of Jon Favreau's best movies and the film that launched both actors' careers.

'Skyline: Warpath' Image Offers Intense New Look at 'The Raid's Iko Uwais in Sci-Fi Action Sequel
Image
Is there anything more satisfying than seeing two action icons join forces to save the world from an alien invasion? No. No, there isn’t. And we have just that thanks to the upcoming sci-fi action sequel Skyline: Warpath, which thrusts The Raid star Iko Uwais and John Wick’s Scott Adkins together and tasks them with saving humanity using just their fists and feet.

The new look image centers on Iko Uwais, who, somehow, remains one of the most underrated action stars fighting the good fight right now. One of the most underrated action stars leading an underrated sci-fi franchise sequel. It has cult classic written all over it. Anyway, in the image, Uwais is seen wielding a pair of blades as he readies himself to once again battle the extraterrestrial threat after debuting in 2017’s Beyond Skyline alongside another action star, Frank Grillo.

For Skyline: Warpath, Grillo is...

‘Operation Blood Hunt’ VOD Review
Image
Stars: Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, Louis Mandylor, Tofan Pirani, Melody Prapassorn, Chante Evans, Myles Clohessy, Gary Cairns, Peter Dobson, Elliot Allison | Written by Brandon Slagle | Directed by Louis Mandylor

Operation Blood Hunt is the film we wanted after Dog Soldiers showed us all that werewolves and soldiers could be a great combination. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much in the way of followup at the time, the promised sequel never happened and anyone who saw Werewolves of the Third Reich would probably rather forget it. So we’ve had to wait until now for Brandon Slagle to take the standard war movie plot of an odd assortment of fighters sent on a mission behind enemy lines and some werewolves to serve as the villains. And when it works, Operation Blood Hunt is a lot of fun, unfortunately, it doesn’t always work.

It’s 1945 and in a bar somewhere in London,...

How O.J. Simpson, a Busted Pilot and His Huge Network Supporter Loomed Over NBC Just as It Found ‘Must-See TV’ Success
Image
It’s a bit of an irony that just as NBC’s “Must-See TV” juggernaut took off in 1994, execs there found themselves right in the middle of a completely different kind of televised spectacle: The O.J. Simpson arrest, trial and eventual acquittal.

Not only was then-nbc West Coast president Don Ohlmeyer one of Simpson’s best friends, but just a month before the killings of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman — followed by Simpson’s white Ford Bronco flight from justice and arrest — NBC had passed on a pilot starring the ex-football-star.

“It was just a strange time to be there because of Don’s loyalty to O.J.,” recalled Preston Beckman, who was NBC’s head of scheduling at the time, and one of Ohlmeyer’s and NBC Entertainment president Warren Littlefield’s key lieutenants. Ohlmeyer would occasionally bring up Simpson during the network’s afternoon meetings in their Burbank offices,...

"This isn't a job anymore... it's turned into a war." Saban has revealed an official trailer for Hellhound, an action thriller from Thailand made by an American filmmaker named Joshua Dixon originally from Texas. This will be getting a VOD release directly in January for anyone who wants to watch this. Otherwise, just skip it, you won't miss much. Ready to leave his profession behind, Loreno, an assassin, lends help to an old friend, Cetan, and taking one last job in Thailand seeking out a local kingpin. A judgment lapse violently crosses paths with an old colleague Paul. Louis Mandylor stars in this new action thriller - a seasoned hitman on the cusp of retirement finds himself pulled back into the deadly world he is yearning to leave behind. How To Watch My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 At Home
Image
By the time "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3" hit theaters this year, a whole lot had happened between the popular franchise's second installment and its third. On screen, Nick (Louis Mandylor) got separated, Maria (Lainie Kazan) developed dementia, and Ian (John Corbett) retired. Offscreen, Andrea Martin gained new stardom playing demon-hunting nun Sister Andrea in the Paramount+ series "Evil," while the cast also lost one co-star -- Michael Constantine, who passed away in 2021.

The new movie's plot hinges around the aftermath of patriarch Gus' (Constantine) death, as Toula (Nia Vardalos) explains in the film's trailer that it was Gus' last wish that the family visit his childhood village in Greece. Thus, instead of a wedding, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3" actually centers around a family reunion with all the cultural flair you'd expect from the Portokalos family. If you missed the movie in theaters, you won't have to...

Released in theaters on September 18, the third film in the franchise follows Toula after Gus' death as she attempts to find her late father's childhood friends in Greece for a family reunion. It is the first installment not to star Michael Constantine, who passed away in 2021, though the My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 cast does feature the return of Nia Vardalos, John Corbett, Louis Mandylor,...

‘The Nun II’ Kicks Off Fall Box Office With $32.6M Domestic Opening
Image
Always trust the nuns.

Warner Bros. and New Line’s The Nun II kicked off the fall box office with a pleasing $32.6 million domestic opening from 3,726 theaters, more than enough to scare away The Equalizer 3 and win the weekend. Moviegoers between ages 18 and 34 made up a whopping 67 percent of ticket buyers, while the pic skewed slightly female (52 percent).

In 2018, The Nun opened to $53.8 million domestically on its way to earning $365.6 million at the worldwide box office — the top showing for any title in The Conjuring horror franchise, not adjusted for inflation. While the sequel’s domestic start came in behind the first film’s debut, no one is complaining. Overall domestic revenue for the weekend hit an estimated $88.9 million, up 118 percent over the same year last weekend.

Overseas, The Nun II launched to a rousing $52.7 million from 69 markets for an early foreign tally of $52.7 million, including scoring the biggest...

Bonnie Aarons in La Nonne : La Malédiction de Sainte-Lucie (2023)
Box Office: ‘The Nun II’ Scares Away ‘Equalizer 3’ With $13 Million Opening Day
Bonnie Aarons in La Nonne : La Malédiction de Sainte-Lucie (2023)
“The Nun II” spooked the box office with $13 million on opening day, including $3.1 million in previews.

The ninth and latest chapter in Warner Bros. “Conjuring” series is expected to open around to $31.3 million this weekend from 3,728 locations, a drop from the record-setting original movie but enough to surpass Denzel Washington and Sony’s “The Equalizer 3.” The 2018 “Nun” original scored the highest opening of a movie in the “Conjuring” universe with $53.8 million, and it’s the series’ highest-grossing worldwide with $365.5 million.

Taissa Farmiga and Bonnie Aarons return as Sister Irene and the titular Nun, respectively, with Jonas Bloquet, Storm Reid and Anna Popplewell joining the franchise. Filmmaker Michael Chaves returns to the series after previously directing “The Curse of La Llorona” and “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.”

“The Nun II” is aiming to land in the middle of the “Conjuring” universe, likely beating the opening weekends of...

John Corbett, Nia Vardalos, and Elena Kampouris in Mariage à la grecque 3 (2023)
You Can Probably Guess the Line Andrea Martin Hears Most From ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ (Video)
John Corbett, Nia Vardalos, and Elena Kampouris in Mariage à la grecque 3 (2023)
“My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3” has officially hit theaters worldwide.

In an interview with TheWrap conducted prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike, star Andrea Martin teased that the latest installment will leave audiences with “a feeling of connection.”

“I think it will resonate with people in a very deep way having come out of the pandemic, because it’s all about family and connection and not isolation,” she said. “Everywhere the family goes, they go together. So I have a feeling that it will be like a warm hug watching this movie. I certainly felt like that when I was shooting it, but where we are as a world right now, I think we all want to be embraced by something familiar, by people that are familiar, that have been a part of our lives for 20 years.”

The sequel, which comes 21 years after the release of the original film, is...

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 Review | The Baklava Has Gone Bad
Image
You won’t be screaming "Opa!" with glee after seeing My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, but there is enough feel-good charm in writer/director Nia Vardalos’s third go-around in her Big Fat Greek Universe to keep you satiated. For a while, anyway. It would have been great if the third time was a charm for the Portokalos family, but alas, how we find that family here and the story they’re given to exist in simply doesn’t work.

That’s not entirely Vardalos’ fault. Her intentions are pure: Create films that remind audiences of the universal bonds we all share around family, relationships, and loved ones. The problem — there are quite a few actually — is how Vardalos and her creative team chose to execute what could have been a truly rewarding endeavor. Fear not. Hope is not all lost. A few Greek muses try to save the day.

Box Office: ‘The Nun II’ Scares Up $3.1M in Thursday Previews
Image
Warner Bros.’ New Line movie division should have no trouble scaring off the competition and winning this weekend’s box office contest. The Nun II — which officially kicks off the fall season after a busy summer — is hoping to open to $30 million domestically or more after earning $3.1 million in Thursday previews.

In 2018, The Nun opened to $53.8 million domestically on its way to grossing a stellar $365.6 million at the worldwide box office, the top showing for any title in The Conjuring horror franchise, not adjusted for inflation (that included a preview gross of $5.4 million).

“You can’t keep a good demon down — not when they can still bring in the crowds,” writes Frank Scheck in his review of the sequel for The Hollywood Reporter.

Set in 1956, the sequel sees Taissa Farmiga — the real-life sister of Conjuring star Vera Farmiga — return as Sister Irene, who, despite her gentle demeanor, can handle any demonic challenge.

On-Air Film Review: RSVP to ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3’
Image
Chicago – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Scott Thompson on Wbgr-fm on September 7th, 2023, reviewing “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3,” the third film that highlights that wacky Greek family. In theaters on September 8th.

Rating: 3.5/5.0

Nia Vardalos is back as Toula, the Greek bride from the classic first film and now the middle aged Mom of college daughter Paris (Elena Kampouris) and wife of Ian (John Corbett). The dying wish of Toula’s father is that she take his journal about his hometown Greek village and deliver it back to his childhood friends. When the gang take the trip to the village, with Aunt Voula (Andrea Martin) and Aunt Frieda (Maria Vacratsis), as well as brother Nick (Louis Mandylor), it’s not what they expect, since the village seems to only be populated by a wacky mayor named Victory (Melinda Kotse-lou) and a scary...

Did we need a My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3? Somebody thought so. Sure, the first one was charming, a word-of-mouth surprise hit romantic comedy, with both laughs and love in a big, close Greek-American family, when a young woman, Toula Portokalos (Nia Vardalos), upends family expectations by marrying a non-Greek man, Ian Miller (John Corbett). There has already been one sequel, and despite the sequels’ titles, Toula is not getting married again, as she is still married to that first non-Greek guy from the original movie. What both sequels do is let us spend more time with the large,...
