According to a May 1963 article in TV Guide by Richard Gehman, La Torre was the building manager at the Montecito Apartments. The Art Deco tower located at 6650 Franklin Avenue in Hollywood was known for housing working actors. Among his tenants were George C. Scott, Maurice Gosfield, Kim Hunter, and Pert Kelton.
