Reece Shearsmith and Ben Whitehead in Wallace et Gromit: La Palme de la vengeance (2024)
Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl (2024) Movie Review: Satisfying Sequel Is A Return To Form For Aardman
Reece Shearsmith and Ben Whitehead in Wallace et Gromit: La Palme de la vengeance (2024)
Aardman Animation is one of the few animation studios, alongside Pixar and Studio Ghibli, that boasts such a consistent level of quality that it has inspired an active fanbase. Although the labor-intensive process of claymation that Aardman utilizes has resulted in a far shorter filmography when compared to its rivals, each film that the studio has released has a signature hand-crafted charm, novel sense of humor, and willfully irreverent style. It’s somewhat surprising to consider that “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl” is only the tenth cinematic film in the studio’s filmography, as Aardman’s influence has been rather oversized. Thankfully, the latest adventure featuring the kindly inventor, Wallace, and his loyal beagle, Gromit, encapsulates everything that Aardman has done best.

Although Aardman has yet to suffer a steep decline in acclaim like the creative rut that Dreamworks or Illumination has suffered, it is evident that the studio...

The Deeper Meaning Behind ‘Wallace & Gromit’ That You Might Have Missed
Image
The great Roger Ebert once called Wallace and Gromit “arguably the two most delightful characters in the history of animation,” and who are we to argue with that? Ever since 1989, a Wensleydale cheese-loving inventor and his beloved dog have starred in four short films and two features, every one of these adventures utterly joyous. Without Wallace and Gromit, the great Aardman Animation possibly would’ve never been discovered outside the UK, and arguably stop-motion as a medium might not have ever gotten critical recognition.

Everyone knows the magic trick by now: creator Nick Park builds his sets and character models out of Plasticine modeling clay, adjusting them in every frame to give the illusion of movement. The effect still looks amazing to this day, and the care put into the craft is a huge part of what makes the franchise feel like such a labor of love. But there’s...

'Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl' Ending, Explained
Image
Aardman Animations' Wallace and Gromit have stolen audiences' hearts since they debuted in the 1989 stop-motion animated short film, Wallace & Gromit: A Grand Day Out. The Oscar-winning British dog and inventor duo have appeared in multiple short films, plus a feature film, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Now, they have a new feature film streaming on Netflix.

In Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, Wallace introduces a new invention, the Nifty Odd-jobbing Robot, better known as Norbot. However, Wallace and Gromit's old enemy, the penguin Feathers McGraw, wants revenge. Feathers McGraw was introduced in the 1993 short film Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers, where he tried to steal the Blue Diamond. Feathers is now serving time in a zoo, and he hacks the original Norbot to turn evil and create more Norbots.

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl's Characters & Voice Cast Guide
Image
The iconic claymation duo is back in Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, with a talented voice cast to bring them to life. The film series, which began with the 1989 animated short A Grand Day Out, is the brainchild of creator Nick Park, who returns as the filmmaker for the latest rendition over thirty years later. Wallace & Gromit movies take ages to make due to the meticulous attention to detail and the difficulty of making claymation films, and it seems even longer in an age where computer effects pump out movies at a rapid pace.

The late Peter Sallis gave his talent to the iconic voice of Wallace in the original Wallace & Gromit movies before passing away in 2017. The new actor, who's voiced the character before in video games, makes his debut as Wallace in film in Vengeance Most Fowl. As usual, Gromit doesn't speak, primarily emoting with facial expressions and gestures,...

Happy New Year 2025 indeed, since it’s off to a “crackin’ good start’! And you’re no doubt wondering why? Well, premiering just 72 hours after the “ball drop” is the feature film return of one of the most beloved comedy teams on the planet. Mind you this duo has been entertaining audiences for over 35 years, starting with a couple of acclaimed shorts before making their first feature in 2017. Oh, did I not mention that they’re animated characters, rendered in clay? From “across the pond” it’s their full-length adventure from the artists of Aardman Animations Limited, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl. Put the kettle on and bring out the cheese…

The full spectrum of human experience fits into the curve of Gromit’s brow. Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl Review: The Aardman team deliver another classic

Plot: In this next installment, Gromit’s concern that Wallace is becoming too dependent on his inventions proves justified, when Wallace invents a “smart” gnome that seems to develop a mind of its own. Review: Few words bring as much joy when paired together as Wallace & Gromit. Since they debuted in the 1989 short film A Grand Day Out, the cheese-loving duo have been the benchmark for claymation films and have inspired countless directors and animators. Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl Lands Perfect Score on Rotten Tomatoes
Image
Fans have waited patiently for the latest Wallace and Gromit adventure, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, and it looks like our patience has very much paid off. Netflixs new Wallace and Gromit outing continues a coveted trend held by few franchises, with Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl joining previous outings Wallace & Gromit in The Wrong Trousers, Wallace & Gromit: A Grand Day Out, and Wallace & Gromit: A Close Shave in achieving a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. While the 2005 movie Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit didn't quite reach perfection, it still managed to achieve a hugely impressive 95%.

David Opie of Radio Times awards Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl a perfect score of 5/5 and calls the movie as sharp as cheddar.

With a script as sharp as cheddar and a voice cast to match, the movie's lean 79-minute runtime flies by faster than you'd like, but only because it's so good.

Wallace & Gromit: A Vengeance Most Fowl Gets Perfect Early Reviews
Image
The first reviews are in for Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, the long-awaited sequel fans didn't know they needed, and it could be the best reviewed movie in the entire stop-motion franchise. Vengeance Most Fowl sees Wallace and his trusty canine side-kick, Gromit, return for a fifth feature film outing, and their first movie since The Curse of the Were-Rabbit way back in 2005. But, Aardman appears to be back in top form with the return of the cheese-loving duo.

At the time of writing, only 7 reviews have been submitted to Rotten Tomatoes, but these early opinions promise a great fifth outing for Wallace & Gromit. Of the seven reviews, all of them gave near-perfect scores. Could Vengeance Most Fowl...

‘Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl’ Review: Feathers McGraw Returns in a Hysterical Sequel
Image
Sometimes I think we put too much pressure on Aardman Animation. They’re the filmmakers who brought us “Wallace and Gromit,” “Chicken Run,” “Arthur Christmas” and “Shaun the Sheep,” so they have a very long legacy of high-quality and hilarious movies. Even their underwhelming films, like “Flushed Away,” aren’t nearly as bad as the worst movies made by their competitors. So we expect Aardman — like we expect Studio Ghibli (or like we used to expect Pixar) — to knock it out of the park every single time, and that’s not fair. They’re only human. It would be no great tragedy if the long-awaited, second feature-length “Wallace and Gromit” movie wasn’t very good.

Fortunately, the long-awaited, second feature-length “Wallace and Gromit” movie is great. So that whole first paragraph was just a big misdirect and I apologize. (It kind of got away from me.)

‘Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl’ Review: A Hilarious and Heartfelt Friendship Test
Image
It’s been 31 years since Feathers McGraw, the silent, Arsène Lupin-esque penguin from Nick Park’s “The Wrong Trousers,” was caught trying to steal a certain diamond from a city museum. Confined to 10 years of imprisonment inside the city zoo, he’s now back in Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham’s Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl and out for revenge.

Evincing the charm and splendiferously droll humor that’s endeared Wallace and Gromit to audiences since 1989’s “A Grand Day Out,” the film is reliably uncomplicated in its plotting. In the nearly two decades since our titular duo’s last feature outing, The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, societal reliance on smart technology has only ballooned. And, it seems, so has that of the mild-mannered Wallace (Ben Whitehead). Indeed, the eccentric, cheese-obsessed inventor has grown so addicted to building contraptions that he’s become blind to Gromit’s needs and desires,...

‘Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl’ Review: The Return Of Nick Park’s Toon Buddy Movie Pair Is Cause For Celebration – AFI Fest
Image
It has been 19 long years between the first Wallace & Gromit feature in 2005 and now the second in 2024, but it is an understatement to say it was well worth the wait. Nick Park’s and Aardman’s delightful buddy movie, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl is an animated film noir merged with the dangers of technology running rampant. Park created this franchise with his 1990 short, A Grand Day Out, and has been going strong with shorts and half-hour specials ever since for W & G. The first feature, Wallace & Gromit: Curse Of The Were-Rabbit was one of the earliest Oscar winners when the feature animation category was established, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see history repeat itself again this year. Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl is a complete delight that delivers exactly what we had hoped it would – and then some.

In this movie, Wallace (now voiced by...

Everything We Know About the Wallace & Gromit Spin-Off
Image
The Wallace And Gromit movies are thoroughly charming affairs. Following the wacky adventures of the eccentric inventor Wallace and his lovable pooch Gromit, the series has become one of the most beloved British properties. Its continued success is impressive considering how A Grand Day Out originally began life as a university project, before the Bristol stop-motion studio Aardman Animations noticed the short's potential, and hired its producer Nick Park to finish the piece. Wallace & Gromit has become a critically acclaimed animated franchise, having won three Oscars to date.

Wallace & Gromit is set to return for their latest escapade, Vengeance Most Fowl. Debuting on Christmas Day on BBC1 in the UK and January 3rd internationally on Netflix, it promises to be a must-watch film over the festive period. Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl will be an "emotional" journey for longtime fans, according to Nick Park, who is returning to direct the movie.

Wallace And Gromit | Trailer released for Christmas special Vengeance Most Fowl
Wallace
Iconic Aardman characters Wallace and Gromit are back for feature length special Vengeance Most Fowl, here’s the trailer.

It’s a commonly held view among both animation aficionados and film fans in general that The Wrong Trousers is one of the best animated films ever made. 30 perfect minutes crammed with character, jokes and the most well directed train chase sequence every committed to film, it won a BAFTA and an Academy Award.

It’s perhaps no surprise then that for their big return to the small screen, Wallace and Gromit will face off against their iconic foe, Feathers McGraw once more in Vengeance Most Fowl.

The new film will be bigger in scope than its previous four short films – A Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers, A Close Shave and A Matter of Loaf and Death – and will in fact be a feature film closer in length to their...

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl Trailer Sees Feathers McGraw Plot Wallace’s Downfall
Image
It's been 31 years since everybody's favourite cheese loving inventor Wallace and his four-legged best pal Gromit sent felonious fake fowl Feathers McGraw to jail in Aardman's BAFTA- and Oscar-winning short film The Wrong Trousers. Check it out below:

A crime wave sweeping across the Lancashire region. Fingers pointing at "evil inventor" Wallace (Ben Whitehead). Gromit in mortal danger. Well, if you hadn't guessed already, then the sight of ol' McGraw hammering away...

‘Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl’ Trailer Reveals an Iconic Villain’s Return
Image
Wallace and Gromit are back — and they’re not alone.

The absentminded inventor and his loyal dog sidekick first debuted in 1989’s Oscar-nominated short “A Grand Day Out.” Their adventures would continue in a series of short films and a feature-length movie, “Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit” (which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature). Now, they are back with a new animated movie, “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.”

You can check out the brand-new first trailer, below, before the movie premieres Jan. 3, 2025, on Netflix.

In this new movie, Wallace (now voiced by Ben Whitehead) is testing out a new “smart gnome” that soon has a mind of its own. Meanwhile, Gromit starts to suspect that a villain from the duo’s past could be responsible — none other than Feathers McGraw, the diamond thief penguin from the Oscar-winning short, “The Wrong Trousers.” That’s right.

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl Teaser Introduces Wallace’s Smart-Gnome Invention
Image
Whether it’s a rocket that blasts to a moon made or cheese, or a pair of robotic (wrong) trousers, Wallace simply can’t stop inventing things – often to his own detriment. And that looks set to be the case once again in Aardman’s next Wallace & Gromit outing. Incoming feature film Vengeance Most Fowl is due to hit the BBC and Netflix before the end of 2024 – and while we know it’ll feature the return of the only and only nefarious penguin Feathers McGraw, it also revolves around a fresh Wallace contraption: meet the ‘Smart Gnome’.

A freshly-unveiled clip from the new film sees Wallace introduce his latest gizmo to Gromit – cheery garden helper 'Norbot'. No prizes for guessing that the smart gnome will likely end up spiralling out of Wallace’s control. The character is voiced by none other than Reece Shearsmith, joining the already-announced likes of Peter Kay,...

The Divisive Doctor Who Episode That Captures Everything Great About the Russell T Davies Era
Image
“You dabbled with aliens,” declares creature that had been posing as an alien hunter named Victor Kennedy. “Now meet the genuine article.”

It’s hard to put into words just how upsetting that genuine article is. Unsightly grey flesh drips from his shoulders and head, so that he resembles more a sentient glob of moldy yogurt than an actual person. Comedian Peter Kay makes his character even more upsetting by bearing his teeth and sticking out his tongue. And that’s before revealing that the faces of his victims protrude from his body still screaming for help, including a character noted for her sweetness stuck to his bottom.

Somehow, the worst part of the monster, dubbed the Abzorbaloff, is his behind-the-scenes origin. The Abzorbaloff design came from a child who won a contest through the long-running kid’s show Blue Peter.

10 Doctor Who Characters Who Deserved Better Fates
Image
In the British sci-fi series Doctor Who, the Doctor meets many people on their adventures throughout time and space. Unfortunately, not all of them survive the enemies they encounter whenever they step out of the Tardis. After all, Daleks and Cybermen and the Master don't care who ends up collateral damage. Still, many fan-favorite characters have died senseless deaths at their hands, or at the hands of things even worse.

Doctor Who has a habit of giving viewers very sympathetic and likeable characters and then killing them off just as audiences have fully embraced them. This raises the stakes for Doctor Who fans, but it sometimes results in characters (particularly female characters) being killed in order to further the Doctor's storyline and make them sad. Many of these characters got meaningful deaths, but there's no denying that too often their deaths were more about the Doctor, or his companions or enemies,...

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl Movie Will Feature Long-Awaited Return Of Feathers McGraw!
Image
There's been chatter for a while now about plans for a new Wallace & Gromit movie and Aardman Animations has confirmed Vengeance Most Fowl is coming to the BBC in the UK this Christmas.

Don't worry, though, because - as we first reported on Toonado.com - it will debut on Netflix worldwide around the same time.

With a 70-minute runtime, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl will be the first feature-length adventure for these two since 2005's The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2008's A Matter of Loaf and Death clocked in at less than 30 minutes).

The biggest news, however, is the fact this movie will feature the return of iconic villain, Feathers McGraw. The twisted penguin debuted in 1993's Oscar-winning The Wrong Trousers and, if that title is any indication, he's eager for revenge!

Vengeance Most Fowl sees Gromit's growing concern as Wallace becomes over-dependent on his inventions - which...
