Jack McBrayer Makes ‘King of the Hill’ Debut in Latest Revival Preview Clip
Image
During its original run on Fox, King of the Hill provided opportunities for performers from all over the Southern U.S. states: Beth Grant (Alabama); Trace Adkins (Louisiana); Diedrich Bader (Virginia); Mary Kay Place (Oklahoma); Stephen Root and Tom Petty (Florida); Johnny Knoxville and Lane Smith (Tennessee), and of course the contingent from Texas, including Peri Gilpin, Glenn Morshower, Johnny Hardwick, Jonathan Joss and Mike Judge. Somehow, though, a show that crossed over with 30 Rock for several years never booked the actor whose role as Kenneth the Page made him synonymous with the state of Georgia: Jack McBrayer.

Based on the evidence of a new clip from the revival season, that seems like it’s about to change.

In the scene, Hank (Judge) is visiting Dallas’ George W. Bush Library with his wife Peggy (Kathy Najimy), and their friends Nancy and Dale Gribble (Ashley Gardner and Toby Huss). The...

Hank And Bobby Share A Cold One In New Teaser From Hulu's King Of The Hill Continuation
Image
In the latest teaser from the revival, Hank Hill fixes Bobby with a dead-serious stare and quips, “You must be a professional comedian if you think I’m going to let you take over for me.”

Despite Bobby’s advancement in age and success as a chef in Dallas, Hank still won't budge when it comes to the sacred duty of manning the grill. It’s a humorous yet heartfelt exchange that perfectly reflects their classic father-son dynamic, where growth is acknowledged, but Texad traditions stands firm.

When it comes to propane and grilling, Hank Hill hasn’t changed a bit.

Fans of King of the Hill can get ready to return to Arlen, Texas, as the beloved series makes its long-awaited comeback with a brand-new 14th season, premiering August 4th exclusively on Hulu.

This marks a major shift from the show’s original home on Fox’s Sunday Animation Domination lineup.

King of the Hill Revival Gets New Teaser, Revealing Adult Bobby's Voice
Image
The beloved animated series King of the Hill is getting revived with an all-new season coming to Hulu this summer. As the updated show is set 15 years after the events of the original series, the characters are all notably much older, meaning Bobby Hill is now a young man.

On Father's Day, Hulu shared a new preview for the King of the Hill revival. While brief, the preview does include some actual footage from the show, revealing new interactions between an older Bobby (Pamela Adlon) and his father, Hank (Mike Judge). This also marks the first time fans have heard Bobby's voice, which sounds familiar but a bit older to reflect how he's no longer a child. Some things never change, however, given the different ways Hank and Bobby see things in the world — including beer. Check out the video below.

The synopsis of the reboot has shared more details...

Fans Pay Their Respects to ‘King of the Hill’s Jonathan Joss at San Antonio Vigil
Image
A week after King of the Hill star Jonathan Joss was shot and killed in what his husband Tristan Kern de Gonzales says was a homophobic attack, fans paid their respects to the late John Redcorn actor.

Roughly 100 mourners gathered at Crockett Park in Joss’ hometown of San Antonio on Sunday, leaving flowers, lighting candles and sharing their memories of the actor at a vigil hosted by Pride Center San Antonio.

“He was just a long-time friend of ours, and we’ve always been fans of King of the Hill,” Brittany Melgar, who attended the vigil with her boyfriend, told local news outlet Ksat, noting that Joss had agreed to officiate their wedding shortly before his death.

For others, including Jennifer Rios, the memorial was about more than just a remembrance of Joss’ life, but rather an opportunity to show Kern de Gonzales their support as officials investigate the shooting as a potential hate crime.

Following Public Outcry, San Antonio Police Are Investigating Jonathan Joss’ Murder As A Possible Hate Crime
Image
After swiftly dismissing claims that the murder of King of the Hill and Parks and Recreation actor Jonathan Joss was a homophobic hate crime, the San Antonio Police Department has started to take the allegations of Joss’ husband Tristan Kern de Gonzalez more seriously.

On June 1st at roughly 7 p.m., Sapd alleges that Joss’ neighbor, Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja, drove up to Joss’ property and began arguing with the actor before drawing a gun and shooting Joss multiple times before driving away. Police officers arrested Ceja just one block from the scene of the murder, and they claim that Ceja admitted to shooting his neighbor during the arrest. Ceja has been charged with felony first degree murder.

As Gonzalez declared shortly after the murder, the official story is far from a complete account of both the lead-up to the murder and the heinous act itself. Gonzalez claims that the murder...

San Antonio Police Walk Back “Premature” Insistence That Jonathan Joss’ Killing Was Not A Hate Crime, Say Investigation Is Ongoing
Image
The San Antonio Police Department on Thursday walked back its insistence that there was “no evidence” to suggest King of the Hill actor Jonathan Joss’ killing was motivated by homophobia.

Police Chief Bill McManus said today in a news conference that it had been “way, way, way premature” for the department to issue a statement earlier this week dispelling the idea that the killing was a hate crime, after Joss’ husband Tristan Kern de Gonzales detailed the events that preceded the shooting, saying it was the result of repeated and “openly homophobic” harassment.

“We understand that many in the LGBTQ+ community are feeling anxious and concerned. A lot of it has to do with that premature statement that we released, and again, I own that. We shouldn’t have done it,” McManus said. “The loss of Jonathan Joss was tragic and most heavily felt by the LGBTQ+ community.”

Carrie Coon, Leslie Bibb and Michelle Monaghan on ‘The White Lotus’ Cut Scenes: ‘There Are Things You Won’t See That Are a Part of Our History’
Image
There’s nothing quite like working on “The White Lotus,” where cast members live on the same hotel set where they’re filming for as long as six months. And for Season 3 stars Carrie Coon, Leslie Bibb and Michelle Monaghan — who played three lifelong friends on a girls’ trip to Thailand — it’s something they’re forever bonded by.

“We’d spent half a year together making this thing far from our homes and our families and our routines,” Coon tells Variety’s Awards Circuit Podcast. “And it’s so fraught when we watch it in a way that it will never be for anybody else. We’ll never be able to explain it. There’s no way to express the fulsomeness of that experience. I’ve said, It’s like being an astronaut. San Antonio Councilmember Rips Police Department for Swiftly Dismissing Hate Crime Allegations in Jonathan Joss Case
Image
Jalen McKee-Rodriguez of the San Antonio City Council is outraged that the police department ruled out the possibility that the murder of Jonathan Joss was a hate crime before the actor’s body was even cold.

On Sunday evening, according to the San Antonio Police Department, Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja, a neighbor to the late King of the Hill and Parks and Recreation star, pulled up to Joss’ property in a vehicle and began arguing with him. Ceja, 56, then drew a rifle and shot Joss multiple times before driving away. When police officers responded to the 911 call about an active shooting, they found Joss dead on the scene, and they swiftly arrested Ceja just a block away from where he allegedly murdered his neighbor.

Ceja was charged with felony first-degree murder, telling the arresting officers simply, “I shot him.” He is now out on bail.

But according to Joss’ husband, Tristen Kern de Gonzales,...

Marvel's New Black Panther Revealed After T'Challa's Death (And It's Causing A Stir)
Image
This post contains major spoilers for "Marvel Knights: The World to Come."

For those who have any designs on reading Christopher Priest and Joe Quesada's ongoing comic book miniseries "Marvel Knights: The World to Come," turn back now. You've been warned.

Here's something nobody expected to say today: There's a white Black Panther now. Yes, really. As reported by Bleeding Cool, in the pages of the recently published "The World to Come" #3, we see a previously unknown son of T'Challa, the main Black Panther from the Marvel Comics universe, challenging his father for the throne of Wakanda. That challenge is successful, with the character we know as Ketema declaring, "I am king now, Wakanda is mine!" as T'Challa lies defeated on the ground. The catch? Once Ketema takes his mask off, we're looking at what appears to be a blonde, blue eyed white man.

Ain't no way Black Panther...

Two Days Before He Was Killed, Jonathan Joss Crashed a ‘King of the Hill’ Panel. Here’s What Happened in the Room
Image
A few hours before I was scheduled to moderate the “King of the Hill” reunion/revival panel last Friday at Austin’s Atx TV Festival, I got to watch the first two episodes of the series’ highly anticipated upcoming return. Most of the show’s main characters are back, but have aged since we last saw them in 2009: Hank and Peggy are retired, and Bobby is now a successful 21-year-old sushi chef.

Among the supporting characters, in Episode 2 we see neighbor Nancy Gribble (voiced by Ashley Gardner) – as well as the object of her not-so-secret love affair, John Redcorn (voiced by Jonathan Joss). Gardner and Joss weren’t included on the Atx panel, as it was meant to be a small gathering led by creators Mike Judge (also the voices of Hank Hill and Boomhauer) and Greg Daniels. Also on stage were just three additional actors: Pamela Adlon (who...

Yesterday, King of the Hill co-creators Mike Judge, Greg Daniels and showrunner Saladin Patterson honored slain Koth star Jonathan Joss, who was shot and killed by a neighbor at his San Antonio home on Sunday night, with a post shared to the series’ official Instagram page, detailing just how much the John Redcorn actor’s “voice will be missed.”

“Jonathan brought King of the Hill’s ‘John Redcorn’ to life for over a dozen seasons, including in the upcoming revival,” read the post, which included a photo of Joss and his on-screen persona. “We extend our deepest condolences to Jonathan’s friends and family.”

Some fans, however, weren’t sold on the sentiment behind this statement, flocking to the comments with questions surrounding how the Koth brain trust handled Joss’ challenging final months. Namely, why Joss was excluded from the King of the Hill panel at the Atx TV Festival in Austin,...

Jonathan Joss’ Neighbors Recount the Lead-Up to the Fatal Shooting
Image
After King of the Hill actor Jonathan Joss was shot to death on Sunday evening, his community in San Antonio is now grappling with the ugliness of the murder with the eyes of the country upon them.

The San Antonio Police Department has alleged that, on Sunday night, after Joss and his husband Tristan Kern de Gonzales returned from a trip to Austin, neighbor Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja fired multiple shots into the long-time TV actor before fleeing in a vehicle. Paramedics pronounced Joss dead on the scene and police apprehended Ceja one block away, soon after charging Ceja with felony first-degree murder. Joss’ husband has since claimed that the killing was a homophobia-motivated hate crime, but the other residents in the area say that tensions between Joss and his neighbors stemmed from the late actor’s “erratic” behavior in the months leading up to his tragic murder.

It's Hank vs The Future In First Poster For King Of The Hill Continuation
Image
Hulu’s upcoming King of the Hill revival appears poised to explore the contrast between a rapidly changing world and the steadfast Texas traditionalism of Hank Hill.

The newly released poster teases this dynamic perfectly: Dale is immersed in virtual reality and puffing on a vape, Boomhauer is casually scrolling through a smart tablet, and Bill is placing a food delivery order from an Uber Eats pastiche.

In stark contrast, Hank remains frozen in time—looking and dressing exactly as he did when fans last saw him back in the show’s original finale, which aired on September 13, 2009. The image sets the stage for a comedic clash between old-school values and 21st-century life.
