The batch of photos includes newly announced series regular Celine Buckens (The Ex-Wife) as Doris and season one guest star Jason Schwartzman (Mountainhead) as a vampire named Burton.

AMC is developing a new TV franchise called “Great American Stories,” which will kick off with a limited series adaptation of John Steinbeck’s classic novel “The Grapes of Wrath.” Rolin Jones (“Interview With the Vampire”) will adapt the book for this initial season and then oversee the franchise, with Mark Johnson — who oversees the Anne Rice Immortal Universe for the network — also onboard to help launch and manage “Great American Stories.” The show will roll out on AMC and AMC+.

Per AMC, each season of the anthology series will be devoted to a different celebrated work, historical moment or individual narrative celebrating and highlighting the American spirit.

“This is a very big swing for our studio president Dan McDermott. It’s a very serious, longterm commitment to actually tackling either a classic story or a classic moment in time and telling that story with incredible creators,” chief commercial officer Kim Kelleher told TheWrap.

AMC is paying homage to its roots as the American Movie Classics channel with a potential new franchise in development. Produced by AMC Studios, Great American Stories is an anthology series where each season “will be devoted to a different celebrated work, historical moment, or individual narrative celebrating and highlighting the American spirit.” The first season will be based on John Steinbeck’s novel The Grapes of Wrath. The announcement was made today ahead of AMC Networks’ 2025 upfront presentation on April 9.

Interview with the Vampire star Sam Reid and producer Mark Johnson were at Deadline’s Contenders Television to discuss Season 2 of their AMC series, wrapped up Anne Rice’s original novel. They confirmed that Season 3 will tackle her second Vampire Chronicle, The Vampire Lestat, and that means Lestat (Reid) fronting a rock band.

“The second book opens in this very extreme confronting different way,” Reid said. “We’re honoring that. The rock-star vampire is such a bizarre concept, and it’s something that we’re attempting and hopefully do it Ok.”

The show’s composer, Daniel Hart, is writing the rock songs for Reid.

“The music has always been done by Daniel Hart, and Daniel Hart is really just bringing some extraordinary work to the new season,” Reid said. “This show rests so heavily on his music. It’s so visceral, the way the music can come in and ride a wave for the audience.

Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches is back. Almost two years after its Season 1 finale aired, Mayfair Witches returns today on AMC and AMC+ with its Season 2 premiere.

Based on the novel trilogy Lives of the Mayfair Witches by Anne Rice, Mayfair Witches follows neurosurgeon Dr. Rowan Fielding, played by Alexandra Daddario, as she learns she is the heiress to a dynasty of powerful witches haunted by a sinister spirit. The supernatural horror series also stars Harry Hamlin as Cortland Mayfair, Tongayi Chirisa as Ciprien Grieve, and Jack Huston as Lasher. The eight-episode first season aired on AMC between Jan. 8 and Feb. 26, 2023. The second season, also consisting of eight episodes, premieres tonight on Jan. 5, and will run until Mar. 2, 2025.

Anne Rice's Immortal Universe is showing no signs of slowing down, with new seasons of both Mayfair Witches and Interview with the Vampire on the way. Tongayi Chirisa, who stars in the former as Talamasca agent Ciprien Grieve, recently teased that a crossover between the two series could be in the works.

Speaking with Screen Rant ahead of Mayfair Witches' Season 2 premiere on Jan. 5, Chirisa noted how it would not be unusual for his character to encounter other supernatural beings due to his work with the secret society, Talamasca. "I think for Cip, it's not uncommon to encounter the supernatural," he explained. "I think with what's happening in Season 2, Cip was a certain level of Talamasca agent until certain things start to happen that will finally give him access to some of the deeper secrets of the Talamasca."
