It's not the beauty that was the original film, and it certainly doesn't have as much intensity or build up to situations, but it's still a wonderful film and very much worth watching. Sylvester carries this as he carries most of his films. A 5 rating feels very low and feels as if it's just random people who haven't watched it are rating it.
Despite the overwhelmingly negative reviews by the fanboys who are afraid of any form of change, or any form of progression in the movies, the movie was great.
Rian Johnson really went for something new and fresh with this movie and I think that is does truly shine. I enjoyed nearly every aspect within the movie and think that it was heavily underrated and certainly not deserving of the storm of hatred it has received. I believe people need to be open to changed more often.
The movie did have its downsides, certainly, Rose was a mediocre character that shouldn't have gotten the praise and time that she had within the movie, and the comedy bit in the beginning of the movie was cheesy as can be, but the movie didn't fall flat, I found it superb.
All I see is people complaining about Rian Johnson, Kathleen Kennedy, and Daisy Ridley. I think they're all superb.
Kathleen Kennedy especially. Sure, she may not understand Star Wars well, but she still takes part in creating wonderful Star Wars films; in addition to that, she has produced some of the greatest, most notable films to date.

As somebody who isn't typically fond of reviewing shows, I've decided I'd start giving my honest opinion in regards to the TV shows that have fanboys screeching about the content it's relevant to.
Cloak & Dagger is a perfect representation of its comic counterpart so far. I give this a solid 8/10, due to the fact the show has a perfect build up in the first two episodes, you learn who your characters are, you are able to connect with the characters, and you are able to feel as they feel, it is well deserving of so.
Cloak & Dagger is nothing like what has been seen with any Marvel TV show so far, and I appreciate that fact. Don't hop on the bandwagon of voting it low because other reviews are low. The track record for IMDB votes pre-release of something is terrible. Give your honest opinion after watching. It was a wonderful pilot.
