As in most Anime portrayed schools, the student scoring highest on the entrance exam to a school is the class representative. This means Miyuki had the highest score on the exam. She was also the only student shown who did not need to extend her other hand outward during the practical skills test.
As of 2016, the story is presented in three story arcs: Enrollment, Nine Schools Competition, and Yokohama Disturbance.
English is spoken for the first time in episode 19 of the series. Only two sentences are said, but the choice to use English is unexplained, though intentional (because subtitles do not appear in the Englih subtitled version)
A student's school can be identified by the color they wear, and their status at the school is identified by a patch on there shoulder and a patch under the left lapel. Second class, referred to as weeds because of their diminished magical prowess, lack these patches.
The (frequent) use of close-up shots of the female characters chest or short skirts is a technique used in Anime that has been dubbed "fan service."
