Probably Not. Because Jason Statham is one of those Mumbling Action Heroes that is Fun to Watch Ply His Trade. That Being "Will Kick Ass...Will Travel".
This Travelogue is Set in Beautiful Locations. The Hand-to Hand Fights are Visceral and Not Overly Edited or Shaken. Stirred but Not Shaken, and if this Movie Reminds of James Bond it's because it's very much Like a James Bond Movie without the Humongous Budget.
In Fact when the "Mechanic" Escapes from Atop a Lift High in the Mountains onto a Human Kite, there is a slight Twangy Guitar on the Soundtrack that Evokes 007. Probably an Intentional In-Joke.
The Movie Looks Great, and Jessica Alba still Looks Great, but the same cannot be Said of Tommy Lee Jones. He Looks Awful.
The Movie isn't Awful it's just Awfully Flat and Formulaic. Worth a Watch for Statham Fans and Action Enthusiasts, but the Potential is Wasted and Delivered so Dry it becomes like so much Bright and Shiny Wallpaper. All Three Kill Scenarios are set up Virtually the Same and the Lack of Creativity is Stunning.
Mildly Entertaining but Empty
All in all, it's a great Jason Statham movie, with fun Action and a beautiful and diverse scenery. Just don't expect too much. But if you're in the need for a dumb yet entertaining Action movie, Mechanic: Resurrection is just the thing you're looking for. Call it a guilty pleasure, but I really enjoyed it.
Jason Statham can do this in his sleep so the fact that he still gives 100% is really appreciated. With a supporting cast filled with big names who aren't given much, Statham essentially has to carry this one and does it effortlessly. Tommy Lee Jones is only in it for about 10 minutes at the most and it's obvious he doesn't care which is actually pretty fun.
Dennis Gansel's direction is solid overall. The action is choppier than the first and there are some distractingly poor CG backdrops interspersed with all the luxurious locales. His greatest strength lies in ensuring the film has one really memorable set piece which was basically the whole marketing campaign for this one.
Though "Mechanic: Resurrection" is an action film, it looks more like a pop feel good film because of its beautiful locations and its movie logic that defies common sense. How can he get from the middle of the sea to Sydney, and is super well equipped with numerous gadgets and even chemicals? And he has only thirty six hours to carry out his mission, and that includes travelling time? I'm not complaining about it, it's just that in a film like this, don't ever question the plot. Just go with the flow, and you'll enjoy it. At least I get to see this beautiful penthouse with a hanging pool.
Statham's portrayal of Bishop is as cool and composed as ever, perfectly fitting the role of a professional assassin. The plot kicks off with Bishop being forced out of retirement and coerced into completing a series of nearly impossible hits to save someone he cares about. This premise sets the stage for a globe-trotting adventure, with each assassination providing a new and creative challenge.
While the storyline might be predictable and the character development somewhat shallow, the film compensates with its relentless pace and visually stunning set pieces. The exotic locations add an extra layer of excitement, and the action choreography is top-notch.
Overall, "Mechanic: Resurrection" is a solid action movie that delivers what fans of the genre expect: thrilling stunts, a charismatic lead, and non-stop action, earning it a respectable 6/10 rating.

- QuizProfessione assassino (2011) was not a huge hit, so the sequel was financed independently. Jason Statham has said that after doing supporting roles in I mercenari 3 (2014), Fast & Furious 7 (2015), and Spy (2015), he wanted to give his fans a starring performance again in the genre that they have come to expect from him.
- BlooperAt the end of the film, Gina is rescued immediately after she escapes the yacht. She is then shown being loaded into an ambulance at some docks while the wreckage of the yacht is being offloaded as well. Unless her rescuer wandered around the ocean for many hours, if not days, there is no way a salvage ship could be sent out to the yacht, pick up the pieces and return to the docks at the same time that Gina does.
