The filmmakers and actors are by February 2025 on trial for the making of this movie.
Due to the directors not being allowed to leave Iran, the film was represented by the film's lead actors, Maryam Moghaddam and Behtash Sanaeeha. Before the screening, the actors brought a statement and a photo of the director couple. The statement were read by Maryam Moghaddam saying:
"We have come to believe that it is no longer possible to tell the story of an Iranian woman while obeying strict laws such as the mandatory hijab. Women for whom the red lines prevent the depiction of their true lives, as full human beings. This time, we decided to cross all of the restrictive red lines, and accept the consequences of our choice to paint a real picture of Iranian women - images that have been banned in Iranian cinema ever since the Islamic Revolution...

Iranians can by February 2025 only watch this movie through illegal downloads or pirated versions shared on encrypted messaging services.
After the deaths by the Iranian government killing of, according to human rights groups, hundreds of Iranians because of the protest movement following the death of Mahsa Amini, the filmmakers stopped shooting the film fearing reprisals. After a meeting two days later they agreed moving on despite possible consequences given by Iran's Islamic regime.
The filming of this movie started a couple of weeks before the "Woman, Life, Freedom" protest movement in Iran in september2022 sparked by the death of the 22-year-old student Mahsa Amini after she was violently arrested by the Morality Police and accused of wearing an "improper hijab".
