Special mentions to Sangeeth Prathap and Mohanlal duo, amazing work. For best experience watch it in big cinema with your loved ones Cheers!

A total light hearted movie! Story revolves around a man who gets heart transplant making him obliged to go n attend donor's daughter's engagement n circumstances thereafter. A very simple movie that doesn't have any elements of suspense, thriller, excitement but yet keeps one engaged for a while. Also gets one bored here n there. Originally a Malayalam movie dubbed in all South Indian languages including Hindi. Available in JioHotstar, my ratings 6/10!

A simple, feel-good film is all we ask from the Lalettan-Sathyan Anthikad combo, and that's exactly what we get in Hridayapoorvam. There are no big dramatic highs or lows, but the presence of a solid ensemble anchored by a sweet Lalettan performance makes this ride enjoyable for the most part. Justin Prabhakaran's music is refreshing; Venmathi is just beautiful to listen to. Malavika Mohanan is also good in a role that gets a more meaningful arc in the second half. But the standout here is Sangeeth Prathap -- good humour is based on "reactions" -- and Sangeeth's scenes with Mohanlal frequently elevate the film, even when it shows signs of sinking. Siddique, Janardhanan, and Lalu Alex make Hridayapoorvam more palatable overall.

Some specific sections could've made the film descend into 'cringe' territory, but the writing thankfully remains steady in the hands of Sonu TP (watch his short film already, if you haven't). Sangita is also a neat presence here, but I wish someone else had dubbed for her. For Sathyan Anthikkad, while this is nowhere close to his iconic works, it's a worthwhile comeback after the absolutely forgettable Makal. DoP Anu Moothedath makes the cast, and especially Pune, look magnificent. To summarize, this is quite the 'crowd-pleaser' -- for anyone looking to bring their friends and families to the cinemas.

P. S. Loved the styling/costumes for Malavika Mohanan -- she was an absolute stunner!

Director Satyan Anthikad returns with Hridayapoorvam, bringing along his signature touch of warmth, simplicity, and emotional depth. Most of the time, the film feels real and natural, but there are a few scenes where the situations and characters don't feel very realistic. Still, these moments are fun and don't spoil the mood of the movie. In the end, the story comes together nicely with a warm and satisfying finish.

Hridayapoorvam is a breezy, feel-good film that makes for a pleasant family watch. It may not break new ground, but it does what it sets out to do - warm your heart, make you smile, and leave you with a sense of comfort.
