You may have noticed that we’ve gone a little review-happy over the past few days here at SciFi Mafia; there are two reasons for that, and they’re both good. One, we’ve been getting a lot of great things to review as the holidays approach, and two, we wanted to get these reviews posted for you before the Big Shopping Onslaught begins.

In fact, we’ve gathered the reviews for the year all together for you in an easy reference list below that we are calling the SciFiMafia.com Shop From Your Recliner Blu-ray/DVD, Soundtrack, and Book Gift Guide 2013. It’s a list of links to all of the movie and TV Blu-rays, DVDs, and soundtracks, and books we reviewed this year, followed by the star rating. Click on the link and you’ll see the review, and at the bottom of the review is an Amazon ordering link.

Kathleen Fleming, who developed and produced several Lego and Lego Star Wars projects as Director of Entertainment Development at the company, died in an accident over the weekend. She had most recently been working on Warner Bros’ February 7 release The Lego Movie: The Piece Of Resistance as a liaison managing studio relationships on entertainment projects. Fleming joined the company after working with Lego as Account Manager at ad agency Ammerati Puris Lintas. She officially came aboard Lego in 2009 as Senior Manager of Entertainment Development for Lego Group. Her credits include Lego Star Wars: The Padawan Menace and Lego Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out which she exec produced, as well as the Ninjago: Master of Spinjitzu TV series and the soon-to-be-aired Lego Legends of Chima series and Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles miniseries.

Being a big Lego fan (who isn't, right?), I find the characters in Star Wars extremely cute and the kids will absolutely fall in love with all 22 minutes of the short, and effective release. Voice talents include Anthony Daniels, Kenneth Colley, Brian Blessed, Julian Glover, Lloyd Floyd, Matt Sloan, Ahmed Best, Lisa Fuson, John Armstrong, Andy Secombe, Tom Kane and Sam Witwer.

Lego Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out is hitting DVD soon, and we’ve got our hands on an exclusive clip to give you a taster of what to expect. My kids are just now getting into LEGOs and I know that’s no excuse to have not watched some of the wonderful things the internet has to offer in the way of Lego parodies, but alas I’m behind.
