C-3PO's quote, "Say hello to my metal friend!" mocks the famous quote from Scarface (1983).

The Padawan 'Mara' is Possible named so as a nod to the character Mara Jade from the books in Legends in which she was an agent know as the Emperors Hand. She eventually married Luke Skywalker and they had a son called Ben Skywalker.
