Premiered at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival where it was awarded the first ever Queer Palm.
Thomas Dekker plays a largely gay character in the film. Seven years later, he came out in real life, revealing that he had married Canadian actor Jesse Haddock.
Includes Juno Temple's first of many nude scenes in her career. When asked about her willingness to be naked onscreen in an interview, she said, "I've never been afraid of a nude scene if it's something that I think is important in a film. As an actress, taking your clothes off is completely your own choice; it should be up to you; it shouldn't be up to anybody else. I don't want to just stand around naked if I don't need to, but I've also never been afraid of it. I'm very European like that. I grew up with lots of topless sunbathing and stuff. It's just a part of life to me, I think."
