‘Matlock’s Jason Ritter Pitches ‘Tracker’ Crossover: “Just Two Rugged Guys”
Image
Spoilers: This post contains details about the Season 1 finale of Matlock

As he returns for Season 2 of Matlock, Jason Ritter has ideas for a CBS crossover event.

The 2x Emmy nominee recently pitched an appearance for his recently-divorced attorney Julian Markston on sister series Tracker, alongside Justin Hartley‘s titular survivalist Colter Shaw.

“If Tracker ever wants a partner [for Justin’s character, Colter], maybe Julian leaves the firm and he starts a new life. Just two rugged guys,” Ritter jokingly told Us Weekly.

After Ritter’s law firm partner character was revealed as the man responsible for covering up the Wellbrexa documents that could have saved Madeline’s (Kathy Bates) daughter, it’s certainly a good time for Julian to be in the wind. And who better to find him than Colter? If they end up partnering on a case, so be it.

Following the Season 1 finale of CBS’s meta Matlock reboot in April,...

Look out for the streaming premiere of “Lilo & Stitch,” a Lego Star Wars adventure, and “Marvel Zombies” on Disney, and the Hulu debuts of “FX’s The Lowdown,” “The Tempest,” and new episodes of “Project Runway” and “Dancing With the Stars.”

Top Pick: “Only Murders in the Building” Season 5 (Hulu)

‘Tracker’ Season 3 Set Video Shows Justin Hartley, Fiona Rene & Jensen Ackles
Image
Tracker is back in production on Season 3, and while we don’t know much about what’s coming up — the premiere does have a lot to address after some shocking revelations regarding Colter’s (Justin Hartley) family history and his father’s death — a new behind-the-scenes video offers a few tantalizing teases. We already knew that Jensen Ackles is reprising his role as Colter’s brother, Russell. They were estranged when the series began, but over the course of his two appearances in the first two seasons, they’ve worked on repairing their relationship — it helps that Colter now knows that Russell didn’t kill their father. The new video shows Ackles on set laughing and with Hartley. The behind-the-scenes look, which you can watch below, begins with Hartley’s “We’re back in production. More Tracker is coming your way.” Then, Fiona Rene, the show’s other series regular...

Tracker Season 3 Explores Shaw Family Mystery's Dark Origins
Image
Trackerseason 3 is just a few months away, and with the show twisting into Colter Shaw's (Justin Hartley) tragic past during its last season finale, the family mystery is going to continue unraveling. Colter, who's spent the past two seasons traveling all over the continental US to track down missing people, has always had the sting of a mysterious past.

While Tracker season 2 hit some bumps in the road when it came to storytelling, the overall arc of Colter grappling with the tragic, mysterious passing of his late father stuck with him through each resolved mystery. Despite seeing his siblings, Russell Shaw (Jensen Ackles) and Dory Shaw (Melissa Roxburgh), coping in their own ways, Colter's need to resolve other mysteries remained.

In an interview with Collider, Tracker's showrunner Elwood Reid discussed the ways that "dark forces" are going to keep Colter guessing when it comes to his father's past. While...

Paramount+'s live stream of CBS is my favorite feature
Image
This stream is only available to select Paramount+ subscribers, but it’s the best thing the app does in my opinion.

As will come as no surprise to readers, I have a ton of streaming subscriptions. Obviously, this is in part to keep up with the latest trends that audiences need to know about, but it’s also because I enjoy watching TV, and one of my favorite franchises to return to when I’m out of new titles to stream is Star Trek.

That means I’ve got to have a Paramount+ subscription if I want to keep up, though I’ve been plenty critical of the Paramount+ user interface in the past. There is one feature that makes the streamer stand out in my mind, however: a live stream of CBS that I can watch right from the Paramount+ app.

Lala's NCIS: Origins Season 2 Fate May Have Just Been Revealed In BTS Photo
Image
A peek behind the curtain of NCIS: Originsseason 2 may have just spoiled the fate of Lala Dominguez. The first prequel of the NCIS franchise fittingly focuses on the crucial character of Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Played by Austin Stowell, with Mark Harmon narrating, NCIS: Origins season 2 returns in October and will have to address a major cliffhanger.

The prequel, which takes place in the early 1990s, concluded its first installment with Special Agent Cecilia "Lala" Dominguez (Mariel Molino) getting into a car accident. Considering that Lala does not appear in the main series, viewers are on alert for any storyline that might write her off early on.

But according to an Instagram story posted by Molino herself, fans shouldn't be so quick to say goodbye to Lala. The actor shared a photo of herself on the Paramount lot, where the prequel is often filmed, although no caption or details were included.

‘Tracker’: Jensen Ackles Talks Season 3 Return & Finally Working With Justin Hartley

How Much Will ‘Tracker’ Change After Those 2 Major Exits?
Image
The hit CBS show Tracker has cut its series regular cast in half heading into Season 3, but will the show be drastically different as a result? Maybe, maybe not. Tracker follows Justin Hartley‘s Colter Shaw, a rewardist who travels across the country helping find missing people. (The through line of the series involves what exactly happened the night his father died when he was a kid; he’s starting to get those answers as of the Season 2 finale.) Those cases come to him from Velma (Abby McEnany) and Teddi (Robin Weigert) in Season 1, then the latter exited, and the former in Season 2. Bobby (Eric Graise) serves as his computer expert, with Chris Lee recurring as Randy and filling in for him during Season 2 as well. Any legal help, as well as the source of a couple cases, comes from Reenie (Fiona Rene). After the finale, showrunner Elwood Reid did...

Tracker’s Cast Shake-Up Proves It’s Always Been The Colter Shaw Show
Image
The issues with Tracker and the way it buries its supporting cast have been well-documented by me over the hit series’ first two seasons, but somehow, I still kept the faith that they’d figure things out and adjust.

Sadly, that is not the case.

TV Line reported on July 18 that series regulars Eric Graise (Bobby Exley) and Abby McEnany (Velma Bruin) will be departing the series ahead of its third season.

(Sonja Flemming/CBS)

For those unfamiliar, Tracker tells the tale of Colter Shaw, played by the always charming Justin Hartley, who travels across the United States finding missing things in exchange for rewards.

I say that because, while we’ve mainly seen Colter find missing persons, we’ve also seen him find a missing horse. There are levels to this reward-seeking business.

The CBS primetime series’ cast was never that large to begin with, the main cast member on Tracker is a lone wolf and a survivalist. Colter Shaw doesn’t spend a whole lot of time interacting with people.

Tracker Loses 2 Series Regulars Ahead of Season 3
Image
Tracker is coming back for a third season, but there's going to be some big changes with the cast with two big stars leaving the show.

Per TVLine, it's been revealed that Tracker stars Eric Graise and Abby McEnany have exited the show. The two respectively played main characters Bobby Exley and Velma Bruin, though they notably didn't share much screen time with star Justin Hartley. WIth the two departures, Tracker is also down to just two series regulars at this time heading into Season 3, including Hartley as Colter Shaw and Fiona Rene as Reenie Green.

Originally, Robin Weigert served as one of the stars of the show, playing Velma's wife, Teddi. She was written out after the first season. The show is also known for featuring Supernatural and Countdown star Jensen Ackles as Russell Shaw, the brother of Hartley's Colter Shaw. It's not known how much Ackles might...

CBS’ ‘Tracker’ Sees Departures Of Series Regulars Eric Graise and Abby McEnany Ahead Of Season 3
Image
CBS’ missing persons drama Tracker just got a bit smaller.

As reported by Deadline’s sister site, TVLine, yesterday, the Justin Hartley vehicle saw the departures of series regulars Eric Graise (computer expert Bobby Exley) and Abby McEnany (business handler Velma Bruin), leaving Hartley’s one-man-operation Colter Shaw and Fiona Rene’s lawyer Reenie Green as the sole stars going into Season 3.

Based on the bestselling novel The Never Game by Jeffery Deaver, Tracker stars Hartley as Colter Shaw, “a lone-wolf survivalist who roams the country as a reward seeker, using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all manner of mysteries while contending with his own fractured family,” per the official logline.

The series has been a major draw for the network,...

'Tracker' Gets a Devastating and Shocking Casting Update Ahead of Season 3
Image
Eric Graiseand Abby McEnany have officially walked away from TrackerSeason 3. As two of the show’s original cast members, the actors’ departure will mark a significant change to the show’s ensemble dynamic. This leaves the CBS series heading into its upcoming season with just two main characters: Justin Hartleyas Colter and Fiona Rene as Reenie. Graise took on the role of hacker Bobby Exley, while McEnany played Velma, one of Colter’s handlers. In their absence, though, the show seems to be honing in on Colter’s lone-wolf persona.

TV Line exclusively reported the latest exits on July 19, 2025. The news comes after Robin Weigert, who starred as Velma’s wife, Teddi, was written out of the story after Season 1. In a February 2025 interview with Parade Magazine, Hartley, who is also an executive producer on Tracker, shared that Colbert does not need a lot of people around him. According to the actor,...

Tracker Is Losing 2 Original Cast Members Before Season 3 After Season 2's Big Exit
Image
Two original Tracker cast members exit the crime drama ahead of season 3’s release. Tracker season 3's release is slated for October 19, as Justin Hartley's titular character, Colter Shaw, continues to take on challenging new cases.

As reported by TVLine, Eric Graise and Abby McEnany, who played Bobby and Velma respectively, aren’t returning for Tracker season 3. Their exits come after Robin Weigert’s. She portrayed Velma’s wife Teddi, who was written out of the show after Tracker season 1’s ending, with her disappearance being motivated by Teddi and Velma separating.

Graise and McEnany’s exits leave Tracker with only two original cast members who are series regulars – Hartley and Fiona Rene, who plays lawyer Reenie Greene. While Tracker season 2 didn’t set up Graise and McEnany’s exits, they aren’t surprising, as Bobby disappeared for several season 2 episodes, and Velma’s role was less prominent.

‘Tracker’ Loses 2 Original Cast Members Ahead of Season 3
Image

The original cast members portrayed hacker Bobby Exley and Velma Bruin, respectively. Only two original cast members remain: Justin Hartley, who plays Colter Shaw, and Fiona Rene, who plays lawyer Reenie Green. TVLine broke the story on July 18. The duo follow Robin Weigert, who originally co-starred as Velma’s wife Teddi but was written out of the series after the first season. Hartley leads the high-stakes drama as Shaw, who travels the country in an Rv, helping police and private citizens solve crimes and locate missing persons. Based on the best-selling novel The Never Game by Jeffery Deaver, the show follows tracker Colter Shaw, who is described in the show’s official logline as, “a lone-wolf survivalist who roams the country as a reward seeker, using his expert tracking skills...

CBS Drops A Major Update About Tracker Season 3 Amid Its Continued Hiatus
Image
Trackerseason 3 gets a major update, revealing when new episodes will premiere. As the top-rated drama on broadcast television, Tracker season 2 ended on a major cliffhanger. Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley) had long believed that finding out the truth about what happened to his father would set him free, though it ultimately raises more painful questions.

Tracker's season 2 ending explained that it was Colter's mother who wanted her husband, Ashton Shaw (Lee Tergesen), to be murdered. Assuming the hired hitman is being truthful, it sets up a whole different dynamic for Colter when new episodes start rolling out very soon.

TVLineconfirms that Tracker season 3 will debut on Sunday, October 19 at 8 Pm Et. The release date falls in line with season 2, which also debuted in October. As of now, it is the only scripted show that CBS has lined up for Sunday nights.

Image
ABC has posted the top two highest-rated shows for the 2024-25 TV season, including one that the network almost canceled. With the 2024-25 broadcast season over and the 2025-26 season imminent, there are many shows that have performed admirably, with ratings juggernauts like The Rookie continuing to be a huge success on ABC.

ABC rival shows such as CBS' Tracker season 2, and popular comedy Ghosts have also performed well in terms of ratings. But there are two ABC shows in particular that have left the rest of the field in their wake when it comes to performance and ratings among the 18-49 viewing demographic.

Per TV Insider, the network's shows High Potential and Shifting Gears posted the highest ratings for new dramas and comedies, despite the latter being almost canceled. High Potential was #1 for new dramas among adults 18-49, with a 3.85 rating, while Shifting Gears did the same for comedies,...

CBS Reveals Fall Premiere Dates; ‘CIA’ Moves to Midseason, Gets New Showrunner
Image
CBS has made some changes to its fall schedule as it announces its new season roll-out plans. New “FBI” spinoff “CIA,” which had been slated to premiere in the fall, will now be held back for midseason as it undergoes some tinkering.

The show, from Dick Wolf, has switched showrunners: Warren Leight (“Law & Order: Svu”) will take over from David Hudgins, and has been given additional time to adjust before going into production. Tom Ellis stars in “CIA,” and the writers room is now up on the show — with casting set to begin soon and production now expected to start in the fall.

With “CIA” pushed back, CBS will now move up Season 2 of “Watson,” originally slated for midseason, to fall instead.

Beyond that, CBS has opted to launch most of its fall sked in October, aiming to take advantage of September events. Much of its lineup is set...
