Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild!

I actually didn't know that this 2008 sequel existed prior to stumbling upon it by random chance here in 2025, as I found a copy of the original first 2006 movie "Another Gay Movie" and this 2008 sequel titled "Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild!"

The storyline in the movie was pretty straightforward, but it just wasn't fully up to par with the 2006 "Another Gay Movie", and I really struggled with the re-casted characters. Writers Todd Stephens and Eric Eisenbrey put together a fair enough script, just with a bunch of shortcomings.

A word of advice, though, if you are particularly sensitive, then there is a fair amount of lewd scenes in the movie. Most of which just unnecessarily sleazed up the movie, and I dare say that had the writers opted not to include such, the movie would still have been able to tell its story and actually be a tad better in general.

The acting performances in "Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild!" were good, but when three out of four actors from the original movie didn't return to reprise their characters, then you just should have written the characters out of the storyline and not re-cast new actors to portray the characters. That was the first and biggest mistake that this movie faced.

The waterskiing scene was some of the worst green screen I've seen in a long, long time. It was just atrocious to look at.

My rating of the 2008 comedy "Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild!", from director Todd Stephens, lands on a generous three out of ten stars.

Gee, I need to write at least ten lines but can sum it up nicely: THIS MOVIE IS A PIECE JUNK AND NOT WORTH YOUR TIME. What were they producers thinking when they green lighted this mess. It is one of those films that make you feel embarrassed for the cast and want to kill the writers. No redeeming values. No comic value. Lousy acting. I could go on and on. Such is the sorry state of gay cinema. Let's see, the plot device behind this film is a content to determine who can screw and get screwed the most during spring break. As impossible as it many seem, this film makes "Justin Loves Kelly" seem like a work of art. No need to view this film. You have been things to do with your life.

This film is about four guys having a crazy holiday in Florida, where they participate a race called "Gays Gone Wild".

The title of "Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild!" is very cheesy, which is exactly what this film is about. There is plenty of cheap and dirty humour, with terribly clichéd characters doing terribly clichéd things. There is hardly any credibility in this film even having considered that it is a brain off comedy. Moreover, the "Gays Gone Wild" contest is basically promiscuity, which is grossly irresponsible to promote.

"Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild!" is a disappointing comedy, and it is not really that funny either.

Tonight I sat down to watch the newly arrived "Another Gay Sequel" DVD, expecting it to at least live up to the standard of "Another Gay Movie" (which I had thoroughly enjoyed and can happily recommend). I found myself reaching for the remote to fast forward through too many scenes. The Sequel is really REALLY flaky, extra fluffy and totally pointless. There's nothing at all to be gained by watching it - certainly not any sense of entertainment. I won't even consider watching, let alone buying, a further sequel. Perez Hilton is probably the most annoying aspect of this film, but Ru Paul is hot on his heels for that honour. The basic fault lies in having such an inane script. The bevy of nice looking actors, no matter how naked, had no hope of saving this film.

While I actually enjoyed the first movie to the extent that I was rather generous with my rating, this one deserves neither praise nor benefit of the doubt. There was simply nothing left to say, add or continue with this sequel, other than putting together a similar premise of gay "teens" in another situation. And while the jokes here were equally raunchy, they just were not funny as the "effect" of the first one had already prepared us for this premise (and I repeat; there is nothing NEW going on here). The film tried to utilize the same formula; gay sex jokes, shock value, pop references and cameos from recognizable gay celebrities (I liked seeing Rupaul, but I consider any instance of having to see Perez Hilton a bad day on my calendar) but once gain, there just wasn't anything new here. I know I've just repeated myself...but then again so did this movie.
