This film was originally conceived as "Love and Other Impossible Pursuits", the title of Ayelet Waldman's novel, but was filmed as "17 Photos of Isabel" in 2008. It went back to the original title, and premiered as such at several festivals in 2009 and 2010. It was then retitled "The Other Woman" in late 2010, before its wide release in the U.S. and several European countries, possibly to prevent confusion with the just-released Amore & altri rimedi (2010). The UK and Australian wide releases use the original title.
