Was initially set for a theatrical release in Germany but this was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the film was released straight to home video there instead.
A fine of "80,000 to 100,000 euros" was requested on Friday in France against the company Radar Film, producer of the feature film "Spread your wings" (original title: "Donne-moi des ailes"), responsible for the destruction of 520 pink flamingo eggs during a film shooting in the Camargue, in southeastern France.
On June 6 and 7, 2018, two light aircraft (ultralights) from the production had flown at low altitude over some 8,000 pink flamingos during their incubation period. Frightened, the birds had flown away, destroying their nests in panic and abandoning their eggs. Approximately 520 eggs, or nearly 11.5% of the annual reproduction in France of this protected species, had thus been lost.
