The film was a remake of "Amadeus", just as "London Dreams" was.
(1981) Subhash Ghai wanted to make a film based on the stage play Amadeus. He signed Sanjay Dutt and spoke to Kumar Gaurav for the role of the other musician. But Kumar Gaurav's father Rajendra Kumar quoted a very high price. The project was called off. Amadeus was later made into a movie in 1984. Then in India it was made as London Dreams and Shakalaka Boom Boom Boom.
Upen Patel and Kangana's voice's are dubbed by a dubbing artiste in this film.
Aditya Pancholi's daughter Sana Pancholi was signed for the lead role but was dropped by Suneel Darshan.
