When Abe visits the house of the man who murdered his family, he comes across an article about a woman who stabbed a ferry captain. The woman, Mary Freeman, is the same woman Michael Keaton's character saves at the end of White Noise.
The movie's predecessor was panned by critics, but became a sleeper hit. This sequel ironically was well received by critics, who deemed it superior, but failed to recuperate at the box office.
(at around 22 mins) Abe's friend says, "That sure sounds like some kind of Captain Tight Pants bullshit to me." In the "Firefly" episode Shindig (2002), Kaylee refers to Mal (Nathan Fillion) as "Captain Tight Pants".
Nathan Fillion and Katee Sackhoff's characters Abe and Sherry go to a bar named O'Malleys. This is the same bar that is often visited by the characters of Due ragazzi e una ragazza (1998), where Nathan Fillion plays Johnny Donnelly.
