All the cars that were pushed into the sea, were actually re-painted scrap. After the filming, they were lifted up and sold.

Before the filming of "Keskpäevane praam" started, Juhan Smuul went to the captain of the ferry "Suurupi" and told him: "Hey, I'll start a fire on your ferry!" The captain answered: "You can't do that, we have very strict regime here!"
The fire on the ferry was created using lint, black oil and white and black smoke-bombs from the Soviet Army.
When the Volga was pushed into the water, it did not want to sink - the engine had been taken out and the body was too light.
