Rishi Kapoor got Rita Bhaduri thrown out of the film. Rishi Kapoor denied this accusation. Rita went to the press and told them Rishi replaced her because she refused to sleep with him. Rishi stated the producer hired her on a trial bases. They would watch the rushes of the film and them decide if they still wanted her in the film. They saw what they shot with her and were upset. The producer thought she was a horrible actress. When they replaced her, Rishi Kapoor was out of town. Rishi stated Rita was only making up these stories to save face after being dropped.
