The show is filmed on location on what had been a working farm (until it was purchased in 1999 by the show's production company) in Kingsford, South Australia near Adelaide. The interior scenes at Drovers Run are filmed inside the farm's 150-year-old mansion.
Cast members Marshall Napier (Harry) and Jessica Napier (Becky) are father and daughter respectively.
Lisa Chappell, who played Claire during the show's first three seasons, left the show in 2003 in part to focus on her singing career. Her first album, "When Then Is Now", was released in May 2006.
The live-in keeps and wranglers of "Drover's Run" ("Kingsford") maintained the stock, acted as stunt doubles, and taught the cast farming skills, which included mustering, drenching, horse riding and sheep shearing.
Cinematographer Roger Dowling masterfully created the photographic illusion that the "Drover's Run" property central setting location in this Australian television series was filmed on a 20,000 acre property in the Australian bush instead of just a small farm heritage estate.
