Okay, I'll admit it. I love this show. It can be pretty cheesy, but the acting is gradually getting better. Some of the storylines are fairly Buffyish, but I still enjoy it. There is always something new happening, except for the Drew and Sherry storyline, which is over...finally! I love Joris Jarsky (Marty) probably because he is good looking and from the same province and country I come from! Anyway, I recommend this show to anyone who enjoys vampires, excitement, and a little cheesiness.
The weird part being that I actually watch this.
Not by any means can I bring myself to say that this series has any depth, or offers excitement. It takes no risks plot-wise, and the characters seem to do what fits the story, rather than what fits with some sort of consistent personality.
The main story is that 5 "young" vampires have been sent to a boarding high school to become civilized and to learn to act human. Why I can't understand, since they act very human right from the start. They're considerably more humane than their living counter parts. The school seems to have one major staff member: the middle-aged, not very strong-looking headmaster, and yet not a single vampire ever does anything to even offend him. Even though they're five very fast and strong supposedly untamed bloodsuckers, when he shouts, they cringe. Even when they haven't fed for 24 hours or so, and become frenzied, bloodthirsty monsters, they go to their human, blood-filled headmaster to sit close to him and TALK IT OVER. Quite uncivilized and scary, huh?
It is virtually impossible to take this series seriously, but it works very well as a relaxing background noise. The characters don't go through any noticeable changes between ep. 1 and ep. 26, so don't worry about missing anything if you just let this run while doing something else.

I used to watch this show often before it was canceled and was thrilled when it began to play again on YTV. Now I stay up at 1:45 AM until 2:25 AM JUST to watch that show. I think I'm losing some major sleep because of this show O_o. Anyways, the story lines impressed me and something new always happens. I've always admired vampires for some reason and although the show doesn't follow all of the rules of vampire-ism, it's still an incredible show. One thing I wonder is if there's more episodes beyond the 26th one (The Vampire's Patient). If there isn't I certainly wish there were more. I'm so disappointed because of that. Oh yeah, one more thing: Drew is drop-dead GORGEOUS!
Vampire High ran on YTV in Canada and Sky 1 in the UK from 2001 to 2002. It aired in the USA on The WB in 2002. The series ran for one season (26 half-hour episodes).
As if ordinary teenagers weren't bad enough, the Mansbridge Academy boarding school has both human and vampire teenagers. The series centers on a group of "young" vampires participating in an experiment arranged by the vampire elders, with the intention of civilizing the vampires. In this program, Professor Murdoch is to teach the vampires how to live among and act like humans.
The humans and vampires at Mansbridge Academy face typical (and not so typical) troubles such as friendships, enemies, crushes, intense blood cravings, and vampire-human romance, and trying not to kill your human classmates.
This series is on the most basic level – fun. Don't expect highly developed characters or story lines from Vampire High. There are no profound lessons to be learned from it.
Take it at face value and enjoy the cheesy goodness that is teenage Canadian television.

Vampire High was and is one the the most stylish ant intense programmes that I have ever seen. Not only is it well written and well directed but the general tone and setting is perfect.
The way it delve's into the characters and finds out more an more about them is indeed an exciting prospect. Never before has a show to my knowledge looked so deep into a character to study them. The plot of the show is the characters themselves, they are the plot and their general mannerisms.
This show is so much more then a vampire TV show but a show that has a balance and the line between the characters and how they can cope with trying to be human.

- QuizDespite playing the youngest character, actor Paul Hopkins, who played Karl Toddman was easily the oldest of the actors playing young vampires, being 34 at the time, playing someone barely out of high school.
