The movie is based on the theatrical play with the same name by Alekos Sakellarios and Hristos Giannakopoulos. It premiered in the "Park Theater" by the acting ensemble of Vasilis Logothetidis.
The movie was screened between 1958-1959 and sold 77,118 tickets. It came 4th out of 51 movies.
The play was remade in a new film in 2008. It was directed by Nikos Zapatinas, produced by Odeon and staring Petros Filippidis and Thanasis Tsaltabasis.
This movie casts giants of Greek comedy --- Thanasis Vengos and Kostas Hatzihristos. This, however, was the one and only movie with them together. Reason --- there is a scene in the movie where Hatzhristos slaps Vengos. While called for under the script, Vengos believed Hatzihristos slapped him one too many times and with too much abandon.
