Visible in the hallway outside the courtroom are portraits of previous judges from the 1980s and 1990s versions of the series. Most prominent is a portrait of the popular Rusty the Bailiff from the 1981 series, who died in 2002.
In order to participate on the show, all parties must sign a waiver dismissing their case in the relevant court and agree to the Judge's ruling as a form of binding arbitration without appeal.
According to After the Verdict; The earrings the judge wears are sometimes picked out by her and other times the studio gives her the earrings to wear.
Staring in season 25; the opening shows a different panel of litigants which in previous seasons has shown the same panel of litigants with each opening. This season, the panel of litigants shown in the opening theme, varies with each opening. One example is a young African American, a young white woman, the judge, and a middle-age white man next to his wife. Next episode, the opening would show An Hispanic Woman looking about 40ish, another woman looking in her late 20's, early 30's, the judge and an older man sitting next to his wife.
The main theme for The People's Court is actually music taken from a 1977 movie called "Barbara Broadcast" starring Annette Haven.
