Ever since his Carol director, Todd Haynes, endorsed his casting to First Cow filmmaker Kelly Reichardt in 2018, Magaro has been working like there’s no tomorrow. You can currently find him on the big screen in Tim Fehlbaum’s September 5, as well as on the small screen in the George Clooney-produced series, The Agency. He also has two films on the festival circuit this year before he’s set to appear in Maggie Gyllenhaal’s The Bride! this fall. If that wasn’t enough, he just wrapped The Mastermind, his third movie with Reichardt in the last handful of years.

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will open the 15th annual TCM Classic Film Festival on Thursday, April 18 with a 35mm screening of the classic neo-noir Pulp Fiction (1994). Two-time Academy Award nominee John Travolta will attend to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the film.

Pulp Fiction kicks off a weekend of programming set within the theme “Most Wanted: Crime and Justice in Film,” as well as the 30th anniversary of the network.

“Pulp Fiction is one of the most important and influential movies of the 1990s. Rutherford Falls co-creator Sierra Teller Ornelas and star/writer Jana Schmieding are teaming up again, to develop a comedy for CBS.

As first reported by our sister site Deadline, Ornelas and Schmieding (who played Reagan on the two-season Peacock comedy) are collaborating on Bonnie, a multi-cam family comedy about a onetime backup singer who 15 years ago left the grind of touring to live on the rez, help raise her brother’s kids, and live her dream of being “Cool Auntie.”

Exclusive: Sierra Teller Ornelas and Jana Schmieding are developing the new CBS half-hour, multi-cam comedy series Bonnie from Universal Television. The project falls under Ornelas’ overall deal at Utv.

Bonnie is a family comedy about a former backup singer who left the grind of touring fifteen years ago to live on the rez, help raise her brother’s kids and live her dream of being “Cool Auntie.”

Ornelas and Schmieding will write and executive produce the project with the latter also set to star. In addition to the pair, Morgan Sackett, Jonathan Berry and Katie Newman also exec produce.

Recently, Ornelas was showrunner of the Peacock comedy Rutherford Falls, which she co-created with Mike Schur and Ed Helms. It was there she met Schmieding, who served as both a star and writer on the show. Previously, Ornelas was a co-executive producer on Loot...

Nancy Frangione, a soap opera star best known for her roles in Another World and All My Children, has died. She was 70.

The actress died on Aug. 18 in Massachusetts, her family announced. Her cause of death is not yet known.

Born in 1953 in Barnstable, Massachusetts, Frangione made her TV debut in 1977 as Tara Martin on ABC’s All My Children. She continued to portray the character on several episodes until 1979.

Soon after, Frangione landed her most notable role as Cecile de Poulignac on Another World, which she initially played from 1980 to 1986. She later reprised the character for several episodes in 1995.

In Another World, her character was known as a scheming villainess and found herself in a love triangle with the characters Blaine (Laura Malone) and Sandy (Christopher Rich). Frangione also won Soap Opera Digest‘s outstanding villainess award for her performance on the daytime soap opera.

Walt Disney Animation Studios revealed the roster of voice talent tapped to help bring a voice, snort and a roar to the animal residents of the modern-day mammal metropolis of Zootopia, which opens in theaters March 4, 2016.

“We had so much fun casting this film,” said director Byron Howard. “‘Zootopia’ features such a large and diverse range of characters – one of our biggest casts ever for a Disney Animation film. We needed talented actors who could help bring these animals to life.”

Adds director Rich Moore, “Everyone in this incredible cast is bringing something special, something unexpected to their characters, which really takes our story to a whole new level.”

Disney's upcoming animated film Zootopia looks like it's going to a ridiculously funny and entertaining film. I got to see some footage from it at D23 this past summer, and I thought the stuff that the studio shared was great.

The voice cast for the film originally included Jason Bateman, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Shakira. Now, thanks to USA Today, we have some information on the rest of the voice cast and the characters that they will be playing. We even have images and information for each of those characters. But first, here's the synopsis:

For a genre that's been dismissed so many times, the biopic is in impertinently rude health. In the past six months in the UK – and only counting the ones about major public figures – we've had Behind the Candelabra, Renoir, Lovelace, Rush, Diana, Hannah Arendt, The Fifth Estate, One Chance, Saving Mr Banks, Kill Your Darlings, and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. The next few weeks alone will grant us audiences with Solomon Northup (12 Years a Slave), Charles Dickens (The Invisible Woman) and Grace of Monaco.

Somewhere down the line, though, the biopic tightened up its act. The Mandela picture's cradle-to-the-grave trudge looks positively old-fashioned now; even 12 Years a Slave is a bit copperplate. About a year ago, Disney produced 3D conversions of both Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King for Blu-ray. The latter was re-released in theaters for two weeks as part of the home video promotion. Unexpectedly, it did gangbusters at the box-office, even taking the number one spot for two consecutive weekends ahead of new releases. Not bad for a seventeen year old film. Sensing there was more money to be made, Disney came up with a new game plan. Even though the 3D version of Beauty was on store shelves, they would re-release it in theaters as well that January. Makes sense, since the average household doesn’t have a blu-ray player in their home theater, let alone 3D capability. Matt: Elena and Caroline's sit-down and emotional chat about fathers about halfway through the episode.
