In the scene where Alex is watching the lesbian themed movies the actress is actually staring at a guy as he waves his arms in front of a light to emulate the changing of the TV screen.
Kelli Heard, the writer/director of the film did her best to keep the kissing scene between Mark and Thomas as comfortable as possible for straight audiences. She tried to make it into something her father could watch.
The woman who says "Watch it, Homo" when Spencer bumps into her in the group of protesters outside the Hope House was the partner of the director at the time.
Due to a low budget the writer/director cheated where she could. One example is the glasses of water in the restaurant where Thomas and Mark are having dinner. Rather than using ice that would keep melting they used plastic wrap. The Hope House signs are taped paper and the water company signs are magnets on the side of the van.
All of the bondage/leather outfits worn by the men as they exited the club were owned by them.
