Sisters

A brilliant series about four very different sisters and their relationships - often shadowed by the "Child Within" flashbacks of their childhood relationships. The Cast Summary should have started out with the LEADING ROLES: Sela Ward as 'Teddy'; Swoosie Kurtz as 'Alex'; Patricia Kalember as 'Georgie'; and Julianne Phillips as 'Frankie'. Their mother, daughters, husbands and lovers added to a brilliant cast of regulars and cameos. The intricate writing of difficult situations and the childhood reflections, make this more than entertainment, but a sensitive way of understanding and loving every one of these characters. Even the philandering father, who wanted a Son so bad he named all of his daughters with male nicknames - tho deceased in the timeframe of the series - carries an important and forgivable role.

This series is indeed great, so great in fact that it was nominated for many emmys ( mostly for sela wards preformance) and Sela also was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild award for this show. i do not know if it ever was nominated for a golden globe.. but it could have been..

Sisters is an awesome show. It blended drama and comedy with theatrical nuances (unheard of at the time). They covered and was ahead of culture on many issues with their storylines. Famous alumni of the show include George Clooney, Paul Rudd, before they were big names. All the actors were superb! I'm one of their biggest fans. I have a group on Facebook - Sisters TV Show Fan Group. I started and completed a successful campaign to get Sisters on DVD. Now we're working on getting it streamed. While collecting signatures I saw how impactful this show is, from all over the world!

I haven't seen this show in ages! I would love to binge it one weekend for nostalgia. Where and when can we stream this little 90s gem?

This show was the best! All of the characters were well thought out and it was an incredibly funny show. The story was enticing and you couldn't wait for the next week to come to see what happened next. I would absolutely love to watch it again but I can't seem to find it anywhere. This show was an Emmy winner. It deserves a spot on a streaming service somewhere. I beg of whatever studio has the rights to this show to release them to someone so those of us who love this show can watch it again and immerse ourselves in the drama of pre- Desparate housewives. Why isn't it streaming anywhere??? Please stream it!
