Recensioni in evidenza
Sunil Dutt, Vinod Khanna, Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan....and more than that, a director of caliber of Yash Chopra...and the result turns out to be Parampara...Can't believe it? The movie is based on a tradition in a village where people fight duels by keeping one bullet in their pistol wherein the person who shoots first is the winner. The performances in the film are strictly OK...The film results in a terrible debut for Saif Ali Khan. The songs written by Late Anand Bakshi and the music by maestros Shiv-Hari is nowhere close to their music in Darr or Kabhie-Kabhie. The actresses (four of them) are just fillers in the movie. All in all, an Awful Experience!!
I cant believe this film wasn't such a big hit it deserves. The storyline is terrific. 2 generation told story. The first being the senior actors conflict. Sunil Dutt and Vinod Khanna as father and son, where Sunil Dutt is strict on his high status tradition. Vinod Khanna and his friendship with Anupam Kher (Sunil Dutts enemy). Vinod falls in love with Anupam Khers sister Rambha and makes her pregnant but is forced to marry Ashwini. Both give birth to sons. Second generation is Aamir Khan who's mum Rambha dies and lives with Anupam Kher and Saif who lives with his mum and grandpa with a easy rich life. Both start realising they are step brothers and the hatred starts. Great acting by Aamir Khan and Sunil Dutt. Vinod Khanna was alright, Saif Ali Khan was still new at the time and was OK, The girls were fine. Music is decent and the overall movie is entertaining. It could of been better, needs a lot of editing (3hrs 15+) and a few scenes could of been changed around.
This is a worthless and pathetic movie from Sunil Dutt's career. I dont know how did he agree with this one. "Parampara". AAAAAAAAA. He plays an old man too much older look than he used to look in his real life. He was selfish and little bit narcissist but not cruel I guess. The story is pointless. Too much blood. A conflict between an egoistic old man and his characterless son (Vinod Khanna). Vinod dies before interval which is satisfying coz he was annoying, used two girls and disrespected his father. The film become a disastrous by showing the brutal death of Sunil Dutt in the end. Seriously, I wished that I could delete this movie. This movie is way more worser than any other movie in Indian Cinema and probably the only worst movie from Sunil Dutt's side. But I still think that during those days he had too much family problems and financially issues and that's why he signed this trash.
"Parampara" was one of the most unknown movies from late Yash Chopra that bombed at the box office. It's a multi-starrer drama based on the family feuds between the affluent Maharajas, led by Thakur Bhavani Singh played by Sunil Dutt. The story to me was quite mediocre which doesn't suggest any time period, is illogical. and becomes quite stupid. Despite a very poor story. the film doesn't become awful but remains a bit entertaining if you skip some of the boring sequences in the second half. Good dialogues, a nice photography, and a good direction from Yash Chopra just adds some grace to this stupid story and makes it pretty watchable. The film also marks debut of Saif Ali Khan who shares short roles with Amir Khan, who both are sadly wasted in the film. Overall, "Parampara" becomes just a watchable film due to Yash Chopra's direction who gives just some life to a very mediocre story. For me it was an OK film but not a memorable one.

Though The Film Didn't Do Well And Criticised A Lot When Released In Year 1993. But Now After 30 Years If Whatched Today One Will Like The Film. Yash Chopra Made This Film For Outside Producer And That Was The Last. After Making An Good Sensitive Films Like Lamhe Which Was Very Criticised (Now Its Clasic And Good Movie) Yash Chopra Decided To Make An Regular Film And He Didn't Make This Film From His Heart Like Other Films He Made Straight From His Heart. The Dialogue Writer Of This Film Dr. Rahi Masoom Reza Passed Away Before The Release Of This Film.
