Three characters had repetitive but unique catchphrases (takiya kalaam) as part of their dialogues which got quite popular when the film released:-

1) Prem Chopra - Bhains poonch uthaayegi toh gaana nahi gaayegi, gobar he karegi 2) Shakti Kapoor - Summadi main Kummadi 3) Suresh Oberoi - Running commentary bandh karo

The casting and making of the film proved to be very tricky. Farha had agreed to do the film due to a prior promise to producer D Rama Naidu. When the film was about to start, Farha had no idea Anil Kapoor was signed to be opposite her. She almost wanted to walk out of the film due to her hatred for Anil Kapoor. It was D Rama Naidu who reminded her of her promise. Farha and Anil had a falling out in 1985/86. Anil and Boney Kapoor wanted to promote her to all the big producers. But in return she would have to listen to their orders and let them control all decisions of her career. Farha stood her firm ground and told Anil and Boney to keep away from her. That is when Anil Kapoor had Farha replaced from several films and had Madhuri replace her. Since then Farha continuously blasted Anil in all interviews. Farha finally agreed to do the film but accused Anil of getting many of her scenes edited out of the film. She went on to claim that when she would do a good shot, Anil on purpose would mess up his line so they would have to do the scene again.

Jackie Shroff was signed for the film but left it due to date hassles.
