This is a controversial movie due to the fact that it has scenes of full female nudity and sex involving a 12-year old boy played by actor Marcelo Ribeiro, who was 11 at the time.
The 2nd film which Marcelo Ribeiro plays a 12 year old boy whom has underage sex with an older woman. The other film was Eros, O Deus do Amor (1981).
Marcelo Ribeiro said that unlike his first movie Eros, O Deus do Amor (1981) when they put duct tape on his privates because he couldn't control himself, in this film's sex scenes he had a normal nude "I learned to separate what was work and what was intimate. But of course there's always a joke, an awkward situation ... The movie set is very mystical, you never know what might happen".
Xuxa, who plays the prostitute Tamara, would rise to international fame as the host of the Brazilian children's TV show Xou da Xuxa (1988), which was remade as Xuxa (1993). She spent years trying to legally take this film out of circulation, claiming its unfair and inadequate use from distributors and video stores.
This film was banned in Brazil in 1991, due to a lawsuit filed by Xuxa, claiming that its commercialization of the film on VHS was not foreseen in Xuxa's contract with the film's producing studio. At the time, a court decision by the then judge of first instance, Luiz Fux, prohibited the sale or rental of the film. In 2017, the lawsuit reached the Federal Supreme Court, where judge Celso de Mello found the case to be "unfounded" and declined to hear it, effectively lifting the ban on the film. The movie debuted on Brazilian television on February 12, 2021.
