The title role was played by Kenneth Cranham in the 1980s. When the series was revived in 1995 most of the cast returned but Harvey was now played by Nicky Henson.
The following year (1983) Executive Producer Alan Mckeown, Script Editors Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais and director, Baz Taylor, would produce "Auf Wiedersehen Pet", also for Central Television/ITV network.
Written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran who would later create the hit BBC series, Birds of a Feather for two of this shows co-stars, Linda Robson and Pauline Quirke.
First major role for Nigel Planer as "Lou Lewis". Later in 1982 he would star as Neil in The Young Ones for the BBC.
