Disney+ doesn’t always have a plethora of new shows every month, but April is not one of those months. In fact, there appears to be quite an array of options that audiences are sure to love. Given how many highly anticipated shows are set to return for brand-new seasons, the streaming platform is certainly the one to have as spring rolls in.
While there will be plenty for animal lovers to watch, there will also be a couple of series fans of Star Wars won’t want to miss. With one of the best shows in the franchise set to make its second season return, fans will undoubtedly want to ready themselves for the rebellion that’s set to come. Definitely a streaming service for the whole family, Disney+ has plenty to offer to viewers of all ages next month.

April showers… don’t matter if you’re sat inside watching TV. The Disney Bundle™ ensures that this is possible in perpetuity, with the entire libraries of Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN available in whichever permutation serves your lifestyle.
This spring, Disney+ continues the rollout of “Daredevil: Born Again” and soon welcomes the return of “Andor” Season 2 (and achieving the rare astrological phase in which both Marvel and Star Wars are active on the streamer). Plenty of shows and movies will also join the Hulu library; the Emmy-winning original series “The Handmaid’s Tale” returns after a three-year hiatus with its sixth and final season, and FX will premiere the limited series “Dying for Sex” starring Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate (based on the podcast from Molly Kochan and Nikki Boyer).

Dwayne Johnson starred in both Black Adam and DC League of Super-Pets, featuring similar post-credits scenes. Superman vs. Black Adam fights were teased in both movies, but never ended up happening in the Dceu. Johnson's heavy involvement in Black Adam and vision for the Dceu led to a complete overhaul of DC's cinematic plans.
Dwayne Johnson's Dceu career was short, yet in the space of three months, he managed to star in Black Adam and one other DC movie, with both featuring the same post-credits scene. The movie came at a pivotal moment for the Dceu - which was floundering at the box office and earning mixed reviews with every release - and introduced several lesser-known characters to the Dceu canon, including the eponymous hero, Hawkman, and Atom Smasher.

After playing a few reunion shows last year, Porno for Pyros recently announced a 2024 North American farewell tour.
And while a press release announcing the tour revealed that original members Perry Farrell (vocals), Peter Distefano (guitar), and Stephen Perkins (drums) would be taking part, a bassist was unconfirmed.
That led us to wonder: Would it be original bassist Martyn LeNoble or latter-era bassist Mike Watt? Or someone else altogether?
So, when Heavy Consequence caught up with Farrell recently to discuss the band’s upcoming EP and farewell tour (tickets available here), the singer gave us the scoop on who will be playing bass on the 2024 outing, albeit a bit cryptically at first.
“Martyn LeNoble is a wonderful guy – he loves the outdoors, he loves to track animals out in the wild,” began Farrell. “He really is a naturalist. By the time we got the tour together, Martyn was heading out to the forests.

Gizmo. Predator. Slimer. Dustin from “Stranger Things.” These are just a few popular characters that have been turned into official Chia Pets in recent years, and more are coming soon.
This Halloween season, Neca will be turning Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams from Netflix series “Wednesday” and Ghostface from Scream into Chia Pets!
The handmade decorative planters promise full growth in 1-2 weeks, with the “Wednesday” Chia Pet depicting Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams looking down at a spooky black and green plant. The Ghostface planter is particularly interesting, as the plant you grow atop his head is intended to form his iconic black hood – it looks more like a Bob Ross hairdo, however.
Thing from the “Wednesday” series gets his own Chia Pet as well, seen below.

If you didn’t get enough Krypto in DC League of Super-Pets, hold onto your leash because James Gunn is bringing the Man of Steel’s loyal pooch back for Superman: Legacy. During an interview with the Toronto Sun, longtime collaborators James Gunn and Chris Pratt spoke about their new film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. While discussing the latest exploits of Star-Lord and his merry band of a-holes, Gunn teased that Krypto would appear in his upcoming Superman film, Superman: Legacy.
While discussing other ways the dynamic duo could work together, Gunn joked that Pratt could play Krypto in Superman: Legacy. “I was hoping I could cast you as Krypto… the Superdog,” Gunn told Pratt. “But you’d have to be like Maria, and you’d have to do motion capture on set, and walk around on your hands and knees.” Pratt, always ready to lean into a bit,...

Sony’s Bullet Train was the global and international box office leader for the studios during its sophomore frame with an added 17M from 61 overseas markets for an offshore cume of 60M and global riding the rails past 100M for 114.5M through Sunday.
The international holdover markets dropped 40; word of mouth is good and there’s track ahead for the Brad Pitt-starrer as Korea, Italy and Japan are still to come. Korea’s Yonhap news agency this week dedicated a story to the fact that Pitt is due to visit the market for the first time in eight years, reportedly jetting in to promote the film later this week.
France was the lead market on BT this weekend with 1.7M (though locally Toei’s One Piece Film: Red caused a ruckus with what we hear was a No. 1 start at 3.34M). The French cume on BT is 5.8M. The UK is currently at 6M.

Chicago – As a pet owner, I know firsthand that I want an exciting life for my guinea pigs. When I’m off at work, I’d like to think that they throw parties or have some sort of hangouts with other guinea pigs or pets in the area. The alternative being the sad realization that they are stuck in their cage while I’m away, probably bored out of their little minds. “The Secret Life of Pets” franchise continues to brings the fantasy to life, even if the sequel feels too tame.

The X-Men are hoping that even after “Avengers: Endgame” steamrolled the box office in April, comic-book fever is alive and well when “Dark Phoenix” opens this weekend. But some furry friends could prevent the band of mutant superheroes from claiming victory in North America.

There are, somehow, three entire plotlines that drive Chris Renaud’s fizzy, frequently silly “The Secret Life of Pets 2,” a worthy if slightly less delightful sequel to the director’s 2016 animated hit. First, there’s the life-lesson-heavy story that centers around ostensible franchise star Max as he deals with crippling anxiety after a major life change. Then, there’s the wacky tale of Max’s love interest (go with it), bubbly Pomeranian Gidget (Jenny Slate), tasked with caring for Max’s cherished toy while he embarks on a trip, only to lose it in a terrifying apartment filled with cats.
So far, so cute, but there’s the third story: Bonzo bunny Snowball (Kevin Hart), believing he is an actual superhero, joins forces with newbie Shih Tzu Daisy (Tiffany Haddish) to save an abused white tiger cub from a very, very evil circus. For a franchise that’s literally...

"Home stay home." Universal has debuted a new TV spot to promote the Olympics featuring footage from the new animated version of The Grinch. We still haven't seen an actual trailer for this movie yet, so this is our first look and it's a fun 30-second spot showing off the furry green character. This version of Dr. Seuss' The Grinch is being made by Illumination Entertainment (of Despicable Me, Minions, Pets, The Lorax) and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the voice of Christmas meanie The Grinch. No other official voice cast has been revealed yet. The footage is all themed specifically for the Olympics and likely won't show up in the actual movie, but at least it's something to start with for now. I'm also not sure why the teaser poster shows a very young Grinch - perhaps we'll see his origin story in this, too? We'll have to wait to find out.

7th Update, Monday 5:20 Pm: This weekend, Illumination Entertainment further proved it’s not just an animation label relegated to a Russian-speaking villain and yellow Tic-Tac guys as The Secret Life Of Pets came in well above its weekend estimates with $104.35 million gross, the sixth-best opening in July and second best for an animated film during the month after last year’s Illumination title Minions ($115.7M).
In what appeared to be a two-note summer between Disney/Pixar’s Finding Dory ($423M) and Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War ($406.2M), Pets widened the landscape with the third-best debut of the season, giving way to what many believe will be a more successful second half of the summer than the first (at least in regard to spreading the wealth). With an A- CinemaScore, Pets is certain to do a 3x multiple, getting it to $313M stateside. Minions finaled with a 2.9 multiple...

.Not available on DVD. column since it began nine months ago and I realize that 19 of the previous 24 films I.ve written about are from the decade of the 1970.s. It.s not that there aren.t worthy forgotten films of the 50.s, 60.s or 80.s that have yet to see life in digital format, it.s just that, being born in 1961, it was the .70.s when I came of age and I.ve always had a fixation with the many films I saw at the drive-in in the last half of that decade. Besides, only from the politically incorrect .70.s could have come a disco musical comedy about a woman with a talking vagina.
Chatterbox, made in 1977, is no porn film (though bare breasts abound), but a silly R-Rated comedy based on a ridiculous but titillating situation that today doesn.t seem at all sleazy or dirty but really funny and kind of innocent.
